Vehicle Description
This 1967 Pontiac GTO is a stunning example of one of the most
iconic muscle cars of all time, recently restored and presenting in
excellent condition. As a true 24217 GTO Hardtop Coupe, this car
has all the right pedigree, backed by PHS Documentation, a
reproduction window sticker, and original manuals, making it a
highly desirable and well-documented classic.
Finished in its factory-correct F-Code Tyrol Blue, this GTO exudes
an unmistakable presence, a color that perfectly complements its
aggressive and muscular lines. Originally optioned with a Black
Cordova Top, this car has been thoughtfully updated with a
color-matched textured roof, enhancing its seamless and bold
appearance. The restoration process was meticulous, with a folder
of receipts detailing the work completed, ensuring that this GTO
was brought back to its former glory while maintaining
authenticity.
Under the hood, this Pontiac packs a YS-Code 400 cubic-inch V8,
delivering 335 horsepower through a 4-barrel carburetor. The power
is sent to the pavement via a Turbohydramatic 400 automatic
transmission, paired with the desirable His & Hers shifters,
allowing the driver to experience the car in automatic mode or
shift manually for a more engaging performance. Equipped with
Safe-T-Track rear differential, this GTO puts its power down
efficiently, making it a joy to drive whether cruising the highway
or powering through winding roads.
The factory-correct Code 219 Blue interior is a perfect match to
the exterior, offering an inviting and stylish cabin that showcases
Pontiac's attention to detail. The bucket seats and center console
provide a driver-focused experience, while the sport steering
wheel, now enhanced with an added leather wrap, feels great in
hand. This GTO is well-equipped with factory power steering (Wonder
Touch) and power brakes, making it easy to maneuver despite its
performance capabilities.
Luxury and convenience features abound, including power windows, a
rear window defogger, a remote deck lid release, and an outside
remote control mirror, all of which elevate this GTO beyond just
being a performance car. The electric clock, a rare factory option,
remains in place, while the AM/FM radio with Verba-Phonic rear
speaker provides period-correct entertainment for the road.
Built at the Framingham, MA production plant, this GTO was sold new
at Maxon Pontiac Inc. of Union, NJ, tying it to a well-known
dealership with a rich history of performance car sales. Today,
this restored and well-documented example stands as a testament to
the golden age of American muscle, offering both power and
sophistication in a beautifully presented package. Very few minor
flaws are present (see photos), but overall, this GTO shows
excellent!
With its strong factory pedigree, recent restoration, extensive
documentation, and desirable factory options, this 1967 Pontiac GTO
is a prime example of one of the most legendary muscle cars ever
built. Whether you're looking for a showpiece, a weekend cruiser,
or an investment-worthy classic, this GTO checks all the boxes.
