5081-TPA 1982 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z/28 INDIANAPOLIS 500 PACE CAR
Motorsport heritage in metal form - this 1982 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
Indianapolis 500 Pace Car stands as a genuine piece of American
automotive significance. One of only 6,360 produced during the
third-generation Camaro's debut year, this Z/28 displays its
two-tone Silver/Blue Metallic paint with authentic Indy Pace Car
decals. The distinctive fiberglass hood, clean lines, and
smoke-tinted T-tops add to its impressive 80s muscle car
appearance. Fresh 215/65R15 tires (2024) mounted on the original
15-inch Z/28 wheels provide solid grip while maintaining the
factory look.
Silver and blue colors continue inside with the two-tone bucket
seats in vinyl and cloth. The four-speed manual shifter sits within
easy reach in the center console. Power steering makes driving easy
through the tilt column while the factory air conditioning system
now runs modern R134a refrigerant for better cooling. Original
gauges display all vital information across the dash panel, and all
components work together to create a true period-correct driving
environment.
Chevrolet's 305 cubic inch LG4 V8 engine works with a Rochester
Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor for solid power output. The 4-speed
manual transmission sends that output to the rear wheels in true
American muscle car fashion. New mechanical components include a
complete clutch assembly, flywheel, throw-out bearing, and steering
box - part of approximately $4,000 in recent maintenance
investments. The dual exhaust system provides improved flow, while
power front disc brakes handle stopping duties.
