This would easily be fully restored or kept as a daily for another 35 years w/base maintenance.
Drives straight as an arrow beyond 80mph @ 3krpm and pull harder to pass over 80...it's a solid engine. (yes, original hg's were replaced by toyota of bellevue a few years ago by a master machanic who specializes in the 3vz-e (also owns the same )).
Owned and driven about 15 reliable and incredible years...
Today, this model sells on average over 15k up to over 20k... mine is stock, no rust on frame or any major parts (small part where camper rubbed on a 1" part of the bed, easily fixed), all original paint, garaged at home and at work.
No accidents, all original panels, all original paint.
Drives and stops straight, no pulling, also can do +90mph and keep up with traffic (with an empty bed, top speed w/motorcycle is about 85).
No hurry to sell, make offer, ...clean title in hand, registration good until April.
Non-smoker, never smoked in this truck, nor PO has ever smoked in this truck. The interior stays dry and smells normal, not musty or mold anywhere like so many others.
this truck is stock, never lifted, never abused and has been on many excellent adventures and pulled countless others out of being stuck. New tires every 5 years.
all stock options:
Removable Sunroof (doesn't leak, even when washing with a jet hose)
Power windows
Power side mirrors
Power door locks
a/c (I removed the belt but all the parts, compressor are there, still setup for freon)
5 speed manual + Hi/Low range gearing
Cruise Control (i was bewildered that a manual has active cruise control)
MP3/cd Sony Stereo w/usb
front/rear dash cams
BMW comfort seats are easy to get into and excellent on very long drives.
center arm-rest/console (tall enough to actually work and be comfortable, strong enough to stand on and climb out the sunroof.)
X-tra cab for tall people (I'm over 6')
New tail lights (still have the old ones but they're faded), all stock bulbs, nothing fancy, just all original Toyota 4x4 extra-cab, manual transmission, high/low...
All drive-train fluids swapped with redline every 2-3 years and after every time I've driven through deep water.
Coolant is Toyota red.
oil is Mobil 1 every 6 months
Brakes are due soon but work fine, Tires have tons of tread but 2 or 3 years old.
Frame is rust-free, no rust on this old baby mainly b/c Washington doesn't use salt.
New power steering pump.
3vz-e Engine runs perfect, idles perfect, has plenty of power, can chirp tires in 2nd, and imo far better than my previous 22re was.
Make reasonable offer and I will reply when I can (I do work 14hr days and overtime)... cash takes it away... I can negotiate yet not in any hurry to give it away. This truck will drive to New York, then South America and back today without issue.
Notes: this is a daily, and needs some TLC that is overdue. Also, some things are much better.
New heater core in dash, blows hot air and defrosts well enough to need the sunroof popped up during a blizzard while staying warm.
Semi-new deep cycle battery
Front/rear dash cams run off cig lighter
Custom heavy rear bumper is thick gauge steel, spare tire is in garage.
Sunroof pops up and can easily be removed and put behind seats. I usually always have it popped up.
LED front turn amber signals (work normally)
The passenger electric window rolls up and down but is slow, and I had to use a different switch. I still have the original switch.
E-brake handle was pulled out, cable is still present but handle is out, needs re-attachment
Electric mirrors function but slow, A/C needs belt, re-freon, every part is there aside from the belt.
Center console from P.O. is durable but not original to this truck, it is a tall armrest/storage.
Seats are BMW comfort seats, excellent on the harshest of roads, long trips, not original but imo better.
Sony detachable w/remote CD/mp3/usb stereo to 6 replaced speakers (sounds better than stock, louder than necessary).
Mirror window tint can easily be peeled off but has been in place for about 5 years and reduces all glare, while allowing me to nap during the day with a windshield screen. It's good to have privacy sometimes. If this is illegal in your area, this will peel away with little effort.
New headlights are always replaced in pairs
Windshield wipers work on all settings... windshield does have a crack but it's not in view from driving.
rear window is a sliding type window, the latch needs to be fixed but it stays closed and is water tight even with jet washes.
carpet was replaced with thick soft rubber base and imo quieter than the carpet was. It's definitely cleaner and easy to keep clean.
Air horns (note: detachable steering wheel horn button is by the stick shift, can be restored with original steering wheel), air horn is much louder and I use it in the woods often.
Owned this truck and registered it every single year for almost 20 years and has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned and taken granted for... it can become a restoration model (I hope) or it can continue to be a daily driver to anyone who needs to always be on time in the roughest of conditions.
