Ford introduced the Deluxe line as an upscale model to bridge the
gap between the Standard version and Lincolns more expensive
offerings. There were various differences between the two including
different grill designs, different trim, different bumpers, chrome
headlight trim, different gauges, cowl mounted wipers and more.
This 1940 Ford Deluxe is a great looking car and is a convertible
which is more desirable. It is an older restoration but has clearly
been well cared for since it was completed and has belonged to the
same owner for 30+ years. He is no longer taking the car out
regularly so it is time to find it a good home where it can be
driven and enjoyed. It has nice Red paint combined with a Beige
convertible top, both of which are in great shape. The iconic 3
piece grill is nicely mounted up front and looks great. It wears
its original style bumpers which are nicely chromed. All of the
chrome and trim for that matter is neatly mounted in place and has
a great shine. The glass is all good and it has the two piece
windshield. The convertible rear window is glass as well. The
lights all work properly and the stock style rear taillights have
the old school Blue dots. They are not currently in place but the
car comes with a set of rear fender skirts painted in a Maroon
color. The Red painted steel wheels look great and feature beauty
rings and "Ford Deluxe" center caps. The tires are Firestone wide
whites which look perfect on a car like this.
Pop open the hood and you will see this car is powered by a
Flathead V8 which runs great! It doesn't smoke and the car drives
down the road really well. That is then paired with a 3 speed on
the column that shifts smoothly. The car has been kept mostly stock
and everything works with no issues. It is still a 6 volt system
but cranks up nicely and the battery is brand new.
Inside the car it is done in all Brown leather that is in excellent
shape. The floor mats, door panels, and bench seats all look really
good. The dash is all nicely painted and has all of its original
style gauges, knobs, clock, trim, push button start, etc. The 2
spoke wheel sits in front of the driver and is the original wheel.
The trunk of the car has a nice mat and gives you a ton of storage
space for all your car show gear.
This is a super nice example of a stock Deluxe Convertible and is
in great condition overall. It has a good clear title and also
comes with a nice fitted California car cover, a boot for the
convertible top, a service manual, and a 6 volt trickle
charger.
This beautiful car could be yours for $62,500.00!
This car is located in Jackson, TX.
