Looking for a classic car that's been upgraded for maximum
performance? Look no further than this 1987 Buick Regal T-type.
This Buick is not your average T-type - it's been heavily modified
with high-performance parts and upgrades to give it a power and
performance that will leave other muscle cars in the dust. CAUTION:
Lengthy description ahead! Under the hood, you'll find a heavily
modified 3.8L turbocharged V6 engine that's been upgraded with a
new cam sensor, timing chain with upgraded followers, new factory
spec ignition coil, 90lb fuel injectors (bench tested and flow
matched), DW200 fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator,
TA-49 Garrett turbo, TA Performance 3" down pipe, front mount
intercooler conversion, Pypes catback exhaust, and an Alky Control
single-nozzle methanol injection kit. The engine has been
custom-tuned with a PowerLogger ECU and a custom chip, and it
features a Scanmaster 2.0 with firmware upgrade to support
Powerlogger and Wideband setup, wideband 02 sensor, Alky Control
methanol fuel management kit, LT1 MAF upgrade, MAF translator kit,
and custom regulator on alternator. This car also features custom
LED turn signals and tail lights. The transmission and drivetrain
have been rebuilt by Richard Clark, with a drag racing build that
features no trans brake, firm shifts, 3rd gear lockup disabled, and
a 3100 stall torque converter with tight hydraulic tolerance. The
rear axle and housing assembly have been upgraded with a limited
slip differential for maximum traction and comfortable drivability.
Other modifications include dual piston front calipers and
oversized rotors for improved braking, upgraded rear wheel
cylinders, a new brake proportioning valve, and a vacuum brake
conversion kit. The chassis and suspension have been upgraded with
KYB shocks, new springs (corner-weighted and matched by Richard
Clark), boxed frame and upgraded control arms, GNX style
cross-brace kit (welded in behind rear seat), new OEM steering box,
steering shaft upgrade (U-Joint type vs OEM rag joint), and CI GNX
style wheels. Cooling upgrades include a radiator upgrade (Trans-Am
style), electric cooling fan conversion with high output fans, and
an A/C system that has been refurbished and is working well. This
car is currently running a conservative tune that makes 434.5 hp
and 471.5 lbft at the rear wheels, per Richard Clark's Mustang
Dyno. The car has made 520+ lbft at the rear wheels on the same
dyno, but is tuned for reliability and street tires at this time.
Overall, this 1987 Buick Regal T-type is a one-of-a-kind classic
car that's been upgraded with the best high-performance parts
available. With a goal of reliable performance, this car has been
meticulously cared for and maintained, making it an excellent
