In 1984, Porsche introduced the final redesign of the original 911
with the 3.2-liter Carrera. Retaining the iconic "G-Body"
silhouette that debuted in 1974, the Carrera featured a newly
redesigned 3.2-liter flat-six engine, with 80-percent of its
internal components being completely new. This upgrade boosted
output to 207 horsepower, allowing the car to accelerate from zero
to 60 mph in around 5.5 seconds. The introduction of Bosch Motronic
fuel injection, replacing the previous K-Jetronic system, further
enhanced engine refinement and reliability. Available in Coupe,
Targa, and Cabriolet body styles, the Carrera also came with a
range of luxurious standard features, including leather upholstery,
air conditioning, and power windows, blending high performance with
comfort.

January 1989, this striking Guards Red 911 Carrera Cabriolet is
offered from the final year of 3.2-liter Carrera production. The
Cabriolet was optioned with all leather front seats in black, a
full power driver's seat, and sport shock absorbers. The CARFAX
Vehicle History Report begins in January 1993 at just 14,032 miles
when it passed a California emissions inspection. From there, the
car went to Nevada with its next owner in April 1995 with just
17,598 miles. It remained in Nevada until its current owner
acquired it in May 2018, when it was brought to South Carolina with
just over 59,000 miles.
A current paint meter reading conducted in April 2025 reveals the
Cabriolet retains its original coat of Guards Red paint.
Furthermore, the car benefits from a recent March 2025 inspection
and engine oil change performed by Flat Edge Autoworks of Bluffton,
South Carolina in preparation for sale. Hailing from the end of an
era, this 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, finished in classic
Guards Red, is furnished with its tonneau cover, tools, owner's
manual, warranty and maintenance booklet, Blaupunkt radio manual,
and service records dating back to new.
