The 911 SC is perhaps one of the most important variants of the 911 ever produced due to the simple fact that its success helped cement the model’s importance in the brand’s hierarchy. Engineered as “the last 911”, the SC, for “Super Carrera”, was designed to be a “world car”, with few changes needed to meet standards across the many varied restrictions set by each country. This not only reduced R&D costs but also helped keep manufacturing overhead to a minimum. Initially only available as a coupe or targa, Porsche released the SC cabriolet in late 1982 for the 1983 model year – this was the first full cabriolet for the company since 356 production ended in 1965.

The resulting vehicle was a fabulous sports car well-known to pull hard in any gear thanks to its 3.0L Flat-6 derived from the 1974 911 Turbo along with the driving feel and handling expected of a 911. All without compromising on comfort, as ever more luxury features become standard. For the US market, power was limited to 180hp due to emissions restrictions. The European-spec cars, however, offered 204hp and a wider torque band for far superior drivability and performance. All told, the 911 SC sold in sufficient quantities to prove that the 911 still had a place in the company’s portfolio, thereby paving the way for the 911’s future. The fact it is still a fabulous driving machine by modern standards adds to the desirability of this exceptional investment.

The incredible 1983 Porsche 911 SC 3.0 Cabriolet featured here is finished in gorgeous Grand Prix White over a Black leather interior with a matching folding convertible top. This exquisite motorcar has been beautifully maintained and driven just 46,154 miles from new. Accompanying this investment-grade Porsche are its original owner's manual, tools, and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity certifying factory options such as air conditioning. This rare, European-spec 911 checks all the boxes; because of this, I personally believe the investment potential will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most sophisticated investor, collector, or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the investment potential of this highly desirable and rare model!
