Extremely rare and limited production makes this 1974 Pontiac
Firebird Trans Am Super Duty one of fewer than 1,300 ever built
during its brief two-year production run. The vivid red exterior
features an innovative custom paint technique where cling wrap was
applied to wet paint before clear coating, creating a unique
textured finish unlike any other. Black fender flares add muscular
definition to the sides while the rear spoiler enhances the already
bold rear end styling. The staggered wheel setup pairs 17" U.S.
Mags up front with larger 18" versions in the rear, wrapped in
245/45R17 front and 255/45R18 rear tires for an aggressive stance.
Custom tri-bar headlights with integrated LED turn signals complete
the modernized classic look.
Inside, luxury reigns with a fully custom tan and black leather
interior transplanted from a Mercedes 500SL. The cabin incorporates
high-end materials throughout, from the richly upholstered seats to
the suede headliner and pillars. A specially designed center
console features a motorized cover that reveals the push-button
start and gear selector-blending technology with artistry. Digital
gauges repositioned to the dash center provide improved
functionality and visual appeal. The Alpine touch screen AM/FM/AUX
stereo supplies modern audio capabilities, while Vintage Air
conditioning, power windows, and power locks deliver contemporary
conveniences in this classic muscle car.
Mechanically speaking, the numbers-matching 455 Super Duty V8
engine was rebuilt by Butler Performance with meticulous attention
to detail. Equipped with a Holley Performance double pumper
carburetor, billet accessories, pulleys, and a serpentine belt
setup, the engine is mated to a rebuilt TH400 3-speed automatic
transmission. A Moser 12-bolt rear end transfers power to the
pavement, while the upgraded suspension system incorporates
Hotchkis tubular control arms, Bilstein shocks, and subframe
connectors for improved handling. Wilwood disc brakes and master
cylinder at all four corners provide excellent stopping
capabilities, complemented by the FlowMaster dual exhaust system
for that signature muscle car sound.
