The poster child of the muscle car era: A red with black stripes
1970 Chevelle! And this one has got a professionally built 396
under the hood in addition to a detailed full restoration. All it's
missing is you in the driver's seat!
EXTERIOR: Great colors! The Cranberry Red paint is applied with
great attention to detail and polished to a smooth and shiny glass
like finish. The black SS racing stripes were painted on smooth to
the touch. Looking down the side of the laser straight body is
satisfying with all its supple contours and sharp lines. The panels
are all nicely aligned with good gaps that are well above average.
The doors close easily with minimal effort. The functioning Cowl
Induction hood really enhances the profile. Hood pins help keep
everything safe and secure. The front grille with SS emblem is
spotless, as are the headlights and bezels. The bumpers were both
replaced or refinished. It also has the rubber SS rear bumper guard
and the original taillights that are in great shape. The polished
cowbell exhaust tips are correct. The rear window appears to be
original with some surface scratches. The windshield was replaced.
It has dual side view mirrors. Rolling on a fresh set of 15" SS
wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR: The bucket seats were reupholstered and rebuilt for a
nice firm and supportive feel. The rear seat was redone in matching
factory style vinyl. The center console with staple shifter
contributes to the classic look. The door panels, armrests,
handles, headliner, sun visors, dash pad, and carpeting were all
replaced. The gauges and climate control are both good originals. A
triple gauge was added under the dash to monitor the engine vitals.
A digital radio fits in the factory hole. The reproduction steering
wheel fits perfectly on the original column. It is also equipped
with seatbelts front and back. The glove box light and dome light
are both working. SS embroidered floor mats are a nice finishing
touch.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Professionally built 396! We have receipts and
documents that specify the internal components of this engine. It
has a nice performance build that is very streetable as well. A
Holley double pumper carburetor with fuel pressure gauge sitting on
top of a Holley intake that has a mild rise. It is equipped with
power steering and power brakes. The huge radiator has dual
electric fans keeping everything cool. Flanked by a brand new pair
of long tube coated headers. The battery is properly secured and
the horns are hooked up. The original cowl tag is still in place.
The fender wells and firewall are neatly painted satin black. The
underside of the functioning Cowl Induction hood is painted
Cranberry Red just like the body. The bay is nicely dressed in a
chrome booster/master cylinder, ribbed valve covers, and a K&N
open element air filter.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are
painted slick just like the exterior. The weatherstrip was
replaced. Inside is all clean and solid metal with a neatly applied
spatter finish paint. It is equipped with a full-size spare tire
and trunk mat.
UNDERSIDE: It appears the suspension and steering has been
completely rebuilt front and back. It has Edelbrock control arms
and a sway bar. The brake system is in excellent shape, the e-brake
hooked up, with disc in front. It also has a great sounding
Flowmaster dual exhaust with the correct cowbell tips. The fuel
tank was replaced. When looking up at the engine it is clean with a
high torque starter and chrome flywheel cover. The Turbo 350
automatic looks fresh and a rebuilt drive shaft connects to the 12
bolt rear end. The floors appear to be rock solid originals with
factory undercoating. The frame was prepped and painted smooth with
semi-gloss black.
SERVICE: We inspect and service each vehicle in our
state-of-the-art shop. On this Chevelle we shimmed the starter,
installed an inspection cover, fixed the reverse lights, horns,
glove box light, and blower motor. We also replaced the wiper
motor, front shocks, steering gearbox, center link, trunk mat, hood
springs, e-brake cable, headers, and cleaned the brakes slides.
The quintessential muscle car! With the professionally built 396
engine, killer paint, and a completely redone interior. This one
ticks all the boxes - style, comfort, and cool!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
