1964 Pontiac GTO
Car History
We have a partially restored opportunity of a time-capsule muscle
car 1964 Pontiac GTO here at Adventure Classic Cars.
It is finished in beautiful Yorktown Blue paint with a white
convertible top over a Parchment interior with a numbers-matching
389 cubic inch V8 with Tri-Power carbs paired with a 4-speed manual
transmission.
Engine & Drivetrain
Power coming from the 389 cubic inch V8 engine equipped with a
Tri-Power three two-barrel carburetor setup and is rated at 345
horsepower. Take a look at the Pontiac blue painted block and
intake, chrome valve covers, factory cast iron exhaust headers, and
three open-element chrome air cleaners, with all the other factory
appearing stock engine parts and hoses.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission
and stock steel wheels that wear chrome factory hubcaps and mounted
with redline tires at all four corners.
Interior
The factory twin front bucket seats are trimmed in Parchment vinyl
with matching rear seat, black carpets, white door panels, black
and white dash with the engine-turned instrument panels holding all
the correct factory gauges equipped with a rare vacuum gauge on the
console.
It has the correct factory center console with chrome trim housing
the 4-speed chrome Hurst shifter and shifter ball, a Sony stereo
radio and speakers, and Pontiac steering wheel.
The cowl-mounted data plate decodes as follows, 12A - Built during
the first week of December, 64 - 1964 model, 2267 - GTO two-door
Convertible, PO - Pontiac Michigan assembly plant, 3230 - Body
production sequence, 219 - Parchment vinyl interior, F - Yorktown
Blue paint, and 5N (which is the most important accessory code on
the tag) usually showing it is a true GTO!
Exterior
Our original GTO was ordered from the factory with the Yorktown
Blue paint option as indicated in the trim tag and has been
repainted!
It has all the great styling cues of the 1964 GTO including twin
headlights, the styled taillight covers, bumper-mounted reverse
lights, chrome bumpers, GTO badges, and the iconic GTO hood
scoops.
Handling is great as you could expect from this GTO with the white
convertible top that looks amazing up or down.
Conclusion
This good looking 1964 Pontiac GTO convertible needs to be taken to
the next level and will be a treasure to own!
The owner is unable to complete restoration due to family
illness.
We hope you will see the amazing opportunity of the GTO you will
enjoy for year to come!
We welcome all inspections.
