Vehicle Description
Sold 2002 Pontiac Firebird convertible Terry 962-451-2104 The
fourth generation of Firebird introduced in 1993 turned out to be
the last one for this iconic model. The famous Trans Am returned
and the most significant visual update came in 1998, which included
a facelift that gave the car a new hood and front fascia. Most
notably, starting in 1998 power was now provided by the LS1 V8
engine from the C5 Corvette, which was lighter, more powerful, and
more easily tuned than the LT-series V8 engines it replaced. A 2000
Motor Trend test of a Trans Am found that the car could do zero to
60 mph in five seconds flat and the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds,
and it pulled 0.84 g on the skid pad. The test concluded that it
had the "perfect '60s exhaust note that's equal parts Woodward
Avenue and Daytona 500." There was talk of building a new Firebird
as the fifth-generation Camaro was being developed, but the death
of Pontiac in 2010 put an end to that. Instead, 2002 would be the
last year for the Firebird, and this highly original 25,349-mile
Trans Am Convertible dressed in Pewter Metallic shows us what we've
been missing ever since. Highlights Final year Trans Am Convertible
