Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this beautiful 1955
Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The
Nomad was refurbished and modified in 2016 and is powered by an LSA
6.2L supercharged V8 linked to a 4L60E four-speed automatic
transmission.
The cabin was fully refinished, and the original seats and door
panels were used. Ciadella Interiors in Tempe, Arizona completed
the interior. Gray leather covers the cabin and a new hi-ply carpet
was installed. Appointments include 3-point harness seatbelts,
power windows, power locks, Vintage AC, and a keyless ignition. The
four-spoke Chevrolet steering wheel sits on a chrome Ididit column
with a Billet gear selector. Dakota Digital readouts include a
160-mph speedometer, 8K tachometer, temp, oil, volts, and fuel
displays as well. The digital odometer shows 2000 miles.
The Nomad left the factory finished in India Ivory / Regal
Turquoise and it was fully repainted in Chip Foose Huntington Beach
Blue Pearl and Toyota's Super White during the restoration. Details
include the one piece smoothed front bumper and rear smoothed
fenders to fit the factory bumper. The rear tailgate was completed
redone with MadMooks accessories (tailgate bars, tailgate hardwire
kit, rear lift gate struts, and anti-rattle). The side trim was
also repainted Super White, only the 55 Nomads had these.
Additional details include an egg crate grille, hooded headlights,
and dual chrome mirrors. Polished 18" front and rear Foose rims are
mounted with Toyo Proxes with 255/45R18 and the front and 255/50R18
out back. Braking is provided by a fully cooled hydroboost system
with four-wheel disc brakes, slotted and drilled rotors, and a
Wilwood master cylinder.
When you open the hood, you are greeted by a LSA 6.2L supercharged
V8 out of a Cadillac CTSV. The firewall was smoothed and moved back
3 inches (all steel) to present all the horsepower this engine has
to offer. The front custom-made radiator support is recessed and
includes all the cooling components needed to keep everything at
the correct operating temperature. This includes polished four core
radiator, AC condenser, power steering cooler, and intercooler.
Transmission cooler is tucked underneath the frame. The PSC hydro
container is baffled to give you all your brake and power steering
needs. The Vintage AC hoses are tucked and hidden out of sight to
give a super clean look.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4L60E automatic
transmission. Underneath, the power cords were hidden inside the
frame rails (fuel on LH side). She has a stainless-steel tank and a
custom aluminum ride shaft. It sits on a custom CHR frame with a 3"
exhaust.
