Vehicle Description
Oldsmobile's legendary Cutlass is one of the best examples of GM's
muscle car glory days, with their characteristic low profile, wide
stance, and flowing bodylines. However, at the top of the lineup,
the legendary 4-4-2 reigned supreme. This 1970 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 is
about as good as an example as you can find, a rare bench
seat-automatic transmission car. Overhauled with a Mondello
camshaft, the massive, date code correct 1970 455ci/370hp V8
sitting under the hood breathes through a 4-barrel carburetor and
cranks out 370 horses into the rear wheels. Torque is put to the
pavement through a numbers-matching 3-speed automatic transmission,
which shifts smoothly and seamlessly as this 4-4-2 cruises down the
freeway. What really sticks out on this 4-4-2 is its show-quality
dark green paint, which is laid out over the laser-straight
bodylines beautifully. It's complimented by a pair of great-looking
golden decal stripes, which run the length of this 4-4-2's ram-air
hood and match excellently to the car's color-matched wheels. The
4-4-2 badging, tout rear haunches, the dual-intake hood, the rally
stripes, and the rear spoiler all combine to create a truly
muscular, intimidating look! The underside to this car is also
extremely solid, with strong frame rails, floors, trunk and jambs.
The interior is absolutely immaculate, with the original headliner
and comfy golden vinyl bench seats that are perfect for cruising.
Additional woodgrain trim brings a little bit of luxury flair to
the interior, and the original AM radio still sits in the
dashboard! Options on this muscular 4-4-2 include power steering,
power front disc brakes, a power trunk release, an original AM
radio, factory gauges, "dual-sport" mirrors, a rear spoiler, and a
mean-sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust system. The car rides on a
like new set of Rally wheels with RWL tires for a factory-fresh
appearance that's hard to match. Turn the key and that massive 455
V8 starts right up, making sure that this 4-4-2 goes like hell.
There aren't too many cars on the market that have the same
presence that this one has, with a gorgeous color scheme and an
interior like this one has. You're not going to see another quite
like it, so don't let it pass you by!
