Description:
This 550 Spyder replica is a fiberglass-bodied roadster that was
built on the chassis of a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle under previous
ownership in the style of James Dean's "Little Bastard," and it is
powered by an air-cooled 1,915cc flat-four linked with a four-speed
manual transaxle. Finished in silver over black leather upholstery,
the car is equipped with 15? wide-five steel wheels, four-wheel
disc brakes, dual carburetors, a fender-mounted side mirror, a
black soft top, and a banjo-style steering wheel.
Interior:
The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in black leather, and
interior appointments include a windshield-mounted rearview mirror,
black carpeting, and body-color interior panels. The banjo-style
steering wheel fronts a 200-km/h speedometer and a 6k-rpm
tachometer as well as gauges for oil temperature and fuel
level.
Exterior:
The fiberglass bodywork is painted silver with red fender darts and
black racing numbers in the style of James Dean's "Little Bastard"
1955 Porsche 550 Spyder. Equipment includes a fender-mounted
mirror, a removable black soft top, twin engine grilles, and gold
Porsche and Spyder badging. The 15? wide-five steel wheels are
mounted with 165/80 Classic All Season tires. The car is equipped
with four-wheel disc brakes.
Drivetrain:
The air-cooled 1,915cc flat-four received a tune-up in January 2025
with a replacement ignition coil, points, and distributor cap and
rotor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual
transaxle.
