CMC is proud to present this 1955 Chevrolet Corvette, a remarkable example of the iconic C1 generation, being the 455th of only 700 produced for the model year. Having been in the possession of a single owner for nearly 40 years, it underwent a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment in the mid-1990s and even competed in the 2001 Great Race rally from Atlanta to Pasadena. Finished in the classic Polo White with a red vinyl interior, this Corvette combines timeless style with a rich history.

Under the hood, it's powered by the legendary 265ci V8 engine, which was the first V8 offered in the Corvette, producing 195 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine has been rebuilt, and the carburetor was refreshed in January 2025. Mated to a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, the car provides smooth and reliable power to the rear wheels.

The exterior features a replacement black soft top, a curved windshield, and clip-on side curtains with Plexi-glass windows. A chrome grille, wire mesh headlight guards, and a three-piece rear bumper highlight its stylish design, while dual exhaust outlets exit through the rear valance. The car rides on red-finished 15" steel wheels with faux knock-off spinners, fitted with G78-15 Coker Classic tires.

Inside, the cabin is adorned with red upholstery. The dashboard includes a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, analog clock, and lap belts, while the two-spoke steering wheel and 140-mph speedometer offer a classic, driver-focused experience. The five-digit odometer shows just 83,000 miles, reflecting its well-preserved state.

This Corvette is equipped with independent front suspension, hydraulic shocks, and four-wheel drum brakes, offering a vintage driving experience. It's also accompanied by 2001 Great Race memorabilia, making it a unique piece of automotive history.
