1953 FORD CRESTLINE CONVERTIBLE C-1006 The Crestline was introduced
as the top trim level of the 1952 Ford range, above the
intermediate-level Customline and base level Mainline. It was
offered in Victoria, Sunliner and Country Squire versions with
2-door hardtop, 2-door convertible and 4-door station wagon body
styles respectively. Crestlines were offered only with a 239 cu in
flathead V8 engine. The 1953 Crestline was updated with minor
styling and trim changes for 1953. It retained its position as the
top trim level in the Ford range while body styles and engine
availability also remained unchanged. Production was a total of
40,861 units. Very few remain today, with none finer than this
example. This stunning 1953 Ford Crestline convertible retains all
of it's original design and mechanical features just as it came off
the production line. Power is by the 239 ci flathead V-8 engine,
coupled to the manual 3 speed transmission with overdrive. The
laser straight body is refinished in original color of Coral Flame
Red, complimented with beautiful black and red interior in it's
original styling. Features include a driver-side spotlight, power
steering, dual exhaust, fender skirts, windshield washer, and wide
white wall tires with full wheel hubcaps. The black convertible top
is easily positioned and is in like new condition. The dash
features all original reconditioned gauges, clock, radio, heater
controls. The 100mph speedometer odometer reads 16378 miles.
Exceptionally finished from bumper to bumper, with historic
commendation from the Early Ford V8 Club of American granting a
prestigious Dearborn Medallion, receiving judging of over 900
points during a national meets exhibit. Sale includes a binder
containing extensive original sales literature, restoration and
