Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1974 BMW 2002, a nicely
restored and updated example with a five-speed manual transmission
swap and factory A/C. This '02 is finished in Chamonix White over
Gobi Tan interior; this car saw a glass-out repaint in 2018 to a
very nice standard. All seals and exterior trim were replaced and
still present as new; bumpers were modified to perfectly conform to
the body and powder coated for a durable finish. 15-inch
Alpina-style alloy wheels by Rota are wearing Dunlop Direzzas.
Interior was fully restored and still presents beautifully with new
seat upholstery, door panels and carpets at the time of restoration
(and showing little to no discernible wear since). This is a rare
factory A/C car; the A/C system has been upgraded to R134a and is
blowing cold. A modern stereo with USB, aux input and Bluetooth is
mounted in the center console. All gauges, lights, indicators, etc
are working properly.
Under the hood is a rebuilt 2.0 liter four cylinder with fewer than
5,000 miles on it mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The
engine was built with 90 mm 11:1 forged pistons and a 304 cam; the
rotating assembly was fully balanced and the head was ported and
fitted with double valve springs. It's fed by a Weber 32/36
carburetor and is running Pertronix electronic ignition. Complete
suspension overhaul including new Bilsteins.
This was the personal car of a well-regarded Atlanta BMW specialist
before being acquired by the present owner in 2019, and it runs and
drives very nicely. For more information about this 1974 BMW 2002
