This 1996 Ford F-150 XLT Short Box pickup is a really clean truck
that spent its life in North Carolina. This truck was a labor of
love by the previous owner who spent thousands of dollars
selectively restoring it. It was his retirement hobby and we have
receipts for at least $7,000 spent on parts in the last year or so.
He went through all mechanicals on the truck to make it a reliable
driver. It is a good looking Short Box! The body is super clean and
straight. The Bright Red paint is mostly original but the roof and
hood were painted because of some fading. The paint looks great and
all of the trim and moldings are original and nice. The underside
of this truck is really clean and we found no rust issues.
The interior is also really nice. Everything is original. The seat,
carpet, door panels, dash, dash bezel, and headliner are all
original and nice. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and
turn signals are all working. It has working power windows and
locks. The gauges all work. This truck has tilt wheel and working
cruise control. The horn and windshield wipers work. This truck
also has working heat and Cold AC.
Mechanically this truck is top notch and it is where the majority
of the money was spent on repairs and maintenance. It runs and
drives excellent!! The engine is the original 5.8L 351W V8 that
runs strong with no issues or red flags that we found. It has the
E40D Automatic transmission that shifts nice. It was totally
rebuilt in the last year or so and we have the receipt. It is mated
to the Borg Warner manual transfer case and the 4WD works like it
should. The rear axle is the Ford 8.8 with 3.55 gears. The front
axle is the Dana 44 TTB with 3.55 gears. This is all sitting on
nearly new aftermarket aluminum wheels with brand new 31 Inch All
Terrain tires.
There is a picture showing a lot of what was done to this truck,
but here are some of the items: all new U-joints, new maf, tps, o2
sensors, new dual exhaust, engine completely resealed, all new
brakes front and rear including calipers, pads, rotors, drums,
wheel bearings, wheel cylinders, and axle seals. Both fuel tanks
replaced with new Ford fuel pumps and sending units. 6 brand new
shocks, new starter, new spark plugs and wires, new distributor,
new battery and cables, and new fluids throughout the truck.
We drive what we sell so that we can give you a first hand and
accurate report on how the vehicle runs and drives. Our pictures
are never touched up or photoshopped. What you see is an accurate
representation of the vehicle. We take consistent pictures and show
you everything so you can get a true representation of the
vehicle.
