2009 Mercedes Benz SL550
This 4 owner Mercedes Benz was delivered into NJ and it spent most of it's life between NJ and NY. The current owner is a dealer in CT and has had the car for several months, driven close to 2000 miles himself and enjoyed it, but now it's time to move it on to a new home.
The CarFax shows it's been well serviced, mostly at MB dealerships. It also shows one damage report which was some minor lower bumper cover damage. It was replaced and repainted. Other than that, it's a very clean CarFax.
The SL 550 is a premium sports coupe, sporting a 382 HP 5.5L V8 and a ton of options. Starting at the top, literally; the power retractable hardtop (convertible), panoramic glass panel roof, wind shade, automatic roll bar , NAPA Leather interior in Stone with burl walnut trim, heated/cooled /massaging seats, multi-directional power seats with vented power head rests, power trunk open and close, power telescoping/tilting wood grained steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, paddle shifters, ABC multi mode shifting, 7 speed automatic transmission, 10 speaker Harmom-Kardon stereo, Bluetooth, NAV, CD; front and side air bags, AMG wheels, drilled/vented power discs front and rear, xenon headlamps.. and more.
Turn the key, or press the button on the shifter and the V8 comes to life. She's very quiet at idle, stab the gas though and the dual exhaust, with factory crossover, rumbles and roars. The choose your shift mode, put her in D and then blast away, either by using the paddles or tapping the shifter left or right to up or downshift, or, just leave it in auto mode and it shifts for you.
She drives great, the nearly 400 lb ft of torque is planted very firmly by the limited slip rear diff and the Michelin Pilot 285/30ZR19's . Mashing the gas gives you full acceleration and a couple G's as you're pressed into the seat, no tire spin or burnouts here. Up front the tires are also Michelin Pilots in 255/35/ZR19 size. The rear tires were replaced in 2024 and the fronts in 2019. The 550 has just over 59,000 miles, 59,510.
The rear auto adjusting shocks were also recently replaced, as were the batteries and an oil change was done as well.
The Capri Blue metallic paint shines nicely and almost shifts color as you walk by it. There are just a few small chips, noted in the photos. Touch those up and have her buffed out and the paint will be near perfect. The interior is in very condition, with the usual minor wear on the driver bolster and one small slit on the A pillar. Very little wear on buttons and other touch points. All electronics worked as they should during my time with the car.
The "worst" aspect of the car is the AMG wheels, they have some minor curb rash and some scratches.
Overall, this car is in very good condition, runs and drives very well. I'd call her a 2- condition car.
With all that in mind the asking price is $25,750.
The original MSRP on this car was almost $100,000 just 15 years ago.
