1996 Chevrolet Corvette

Present owner bought this car in June 2012. He has driven it very sparingly since. It had 27,370 miles when purchased. It has 29,216 miles now (about 185 miles per year.) The previous owner spent over $80,000 to build his dream “Viper Eater”. Shortly after completing the build he passed away and his wife sold the car. Present owner is 79 years old and has decided this car is way too fast for an “old man”.
It was tuned by Corvette Connection in Denver, Colorado in December of 2013. According to their dyno its top speed at 6000 rpm (optimum shift rpm) is 228 mph. The previous owner had it dyno’d in California and it was right at 600 HP at the crank and 583 HP at rear wheels. The car is in great shape, as are the new Nitro road racing tires (N275/40/17 on front, N315/35/17 on rear; have 180 MPH speed rating.) It has been shown in several car shows in Colorado and Kansas and gained a “lot” of attention! It has been stored inside since present owner has had it (also with a cover over it.) The deep thunder of the exhaust truly gets your heart pumping. It comes with: Cover, custom Corvette floor mats, and custom cloth seat covers to protect the leather.
Present owner has been approached many times to enter the car in different road races, but has elected to just drive it occasionally for his personal enjoyment. It is very road worthy (get great gas mileage), is dependable and definitely draws a large crowd wherever it stops!
It is a 1996 LT4 with factory preferred equipment package. It has a removable top, power leather seats, windows, locks, mirrors and a CD player. Grand Sport Badging has been added to the Front Clip.
It has a manual 6-speed transmission with short shifter. The 383 cu in 6.3L full stoker engine has custom appearance touches all around. It has long tube custom headers, full custom stainless steel exhaust, AFR aluminum heads, Lager injectors, electric water pump, full stroker kit. It sports “Torch Red” base color with Yellow custom paint accents. The American Racing wheels have top-of-the-line Nitro racing tires. During the build an aerodynamic down force kit was installed (a wing). It greatly enhanced stability and handling at high speeds. The suspension is custom built for road racing with upgraded brakes, rotors and clutch. The underside of the car is all powder coated, painted and polished. It also has powder coated valve covers, manifold and timing cover. The cockpit is like new and very comfortable. On the dash is a pedestal mount 10,000 RPM tach w/external shift light, peak rpm recall and 4-stage shift storage.
