Vehicle Description
1997 BMW Z3 1.9 (JDM) - Only 4,600 Kilometers - 5-Speed Manual
This Japanese-market 1997 BMW Z3 1.9 was imported to the U.S. in
2022 and acquired by the current owner in 2024. Showing just 4,600
kilometers (~2,900 miles), this low-mileage roadster is a rare
find. Finished in Alpine White over a black leather interior, it's
powered by a 1.9-liter M44B19 inline-four, paired with a five-speed
manual transmission.
Factory features include a black convertible soft top, heated
seats, air conditioning, and a cassette stereo. The car rides on
17? multi-piece alloy wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires
installed in 2024, with braking power provided by four-wheel disc
brakes with ventilated front rotors. A clean Carfax report and a
clean South Carolina title accompany the sale.
Exterior
The Z3's Alpine White (300) finish complements its classic roadster
silhouette, featuring flared wheel arches, front fender vents, fog
lights, and a single exhaust outlet. A manually retractable black
soft top completes the look. Notable blemishes include
imperfections on the left side skirt, left headlight, and rear soft
top window, with close-up images available in the gallery. The
wheel finish is peeling, but the car retains its factory-correct
aesthetic.
Interior
The driver-focused cabin is fitted with black leather
power-adjustable heated seats, extending the premium touch to the
center console and door panels. Creature comforts include power
windows, air conditioning, and a cassette stereo, maintaining the
Z3's period-correct charm.
Instrumentation features a 155-mph speedometer and a tachometer
with a 6,200-rpm redline, alongside coolant temperature and fuel
level gauges. The digital odometer displays 4,600 kilometers
(~2,900 miles), with approximately 500 kilometers added under
current ownership. To enhance usability in the U.S., a mph
speedometer gauge face was installed in 2024.
Performance & Maintenance
Under the hood, the 1.9-liter M44B19 inline-four delivers 138
horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through
a five-speed manual transmission-making this Z3 an engaging,
lightweight driver's car. Recent maintenance in 2024 included the
replacement of spark plugs, spark plug wires, and ignition coils to
ensure smooth operation.
This rare JDM BMW Z3 presents a unique opportunity to own a
low-mileage, manual-transmission roadster in a classic color
combination. Don't miss your chance to enjoy open-top motoring in
this exceptionally preserved example.
As with all classic cars, it may need a few odds and ends down the
line as you begin to drive it more often, but we would still be
very proud to own and drive this car every day, and we know for
sure you would!
