Vehicle Description
1959 Bentley S1 This is a left-hand-drive Saloon that is one of
very few long-wheelbase examples produced and is said to have been
first sold inSwitzerlandbefore being imported to theUSfrom theUKin
the early 1970s. The 4.9-liter inline-six has been rebuilt with
replacement pistons and rod bearings, while additional work under
current ownership included rebuilds of the distributor and fuel
pump as well as a refresh of the brakes and replacement of the
tires, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, and exhaust system.
New spring work has restored the vehicle to proper height. It is
equipped with an electrically operated 'Division' glass divider
between the front and rear seats in addition to burl wood interior
trim, fold-down rear picnic tables. Woodwork is in top condition.
Leather in good condition but could use a re-dye to be top notch.
The long-wheelbase body was refinished in black under previous
ownership, the paint is faded and cracked, vehicle could use paint
and some body work. The Grille is very very nice and features a
"Flying B" hood ornament. All chrome is in very good condition.
New235/75 TA11 tires were recently fitted. Brakes overhauled with a
rebuilt servo and master cylinders along with replacement of the
brake hoses and wheel cylinders. Rolls-Royce Grille is available
for additional cost.
