This 1966 GMC 1500 custom pickup known as "The Color Purple" was
built with the seller's son for Drag Week 2024. This complete
frame-off build started in July 2022 and was completed in July
2024, with help from some of the best in the game: House of Boost,
Simple C10 and RSR. The pickup wears its original GTO purple, as
the original owner worked at the GTO factory and brought this hue
to life on the pickup. The body remains untouched, except for fresh
side trim to enhance its classic look. Under the hood, engine
builder Joel Little put together a 5.3-liter V8 engine with ported
heads and a ported LSA blower. Power is transferred through a
Stage-5 built 4L60E automatic transmission with a Circle D torque
converter. It is also equipped with a Holley Terminator X
fuel-injection system with real time ECU tuning. The frame was
completely torn down, stiffened, C-notched and fitted with a
driveshaft loop before being painted. For handling, the front
suspension features CPP spindles paired with a full Airlift setup
front and rear, all adjustable via phone and remote. CPP sway bars
tighten up track performance, and stopping power comes from a
14-inch CPP big brake kit at all four corners, working with a
Porterbuilt Frames master cylinder and stainless-steel brake lines.
This pickup was featured in the January 2025 issue of C/K Truck
magazine. ** PREVIEW
