Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to digitally present this
absolutely gorgeous 1956 Buick Century Sport Coupe. GM Chief of
Styling and Design, Harley Earl, and the guys over at Buick took
things to a whole new level in the mid '50s. Stylist Ned Nickels
obsession with the model and making it different than other
corporate lines led him to design the famous chrome Buick portholes
reminiscent of the WWII era fighter aircrafts. Three portholes
meant the car was a six cylinder, four portholes was a V8. This is
automotive artwork that makes you proud to be an American. Known
for his passion for classic American automobiles, the consignor was
once featured on a televised Mecum auction. In addition, the
consignor has over ninety thousand dollars invested in this '56 so
you are literally getting the car at half price! The 332ci engine
runs like a clock and only has a few hundred miles since being
rebuilt. When you add power steering, power brakes, and cold a/c
you'll literally want to cruise all day. Before consigning, the
owner had all fluids changed, a new carb and fuel tank added, the
radiator re-cored, electric cooling fan installed, and cool wide
whites mounted and balanced and there's much more! We haven't even
mentioned how insanely beautiful this car is! A classic black and
silver two tone with wire wheels are you kidding me? This timeless
and desirable Buick Century is a steal and won't last long!
