Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this numbers matching 1976
Corvette Stingray in excellent driver condition with only 83,525
original miles. The car looks excellent, runs well, and drives
great as one can see in the video in this ad. This Stingray is
finished in the beautiful, striking, and rare combination of Bright
Yellow (56) over Dark Brown Leather (692) interior. This is also
the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on
the trim tag pictured in this ad. This would be an excellent
opportunity to own a classic corvette that is ready to be used and
enjoyed at an excellent value.
Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this Corvette is "Numbers
Matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the
correct and original units that were installed in the car new at
the factory in St. Louis in December of 1975. Even detailed parts
like the distributor, carburetor, and even all the glass is date
coded and original. The last six digits of the VIN, 414190, are
stamped on the engine pad and the engine is original to the car.
The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the
VIN stamped on the main case.
This Stingray is loaded with appealing options as one can see in
the extensive list of RPO codes in this ad such as tilt/telescopic
steering wheel, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and
YJ8 aluminum wheels. The T-Top bags are included with the car. The
low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the
car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing
the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video,
list of RPO codes, and other information to get a true sense of
this Corvette.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. Our
Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have
the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.
We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Bright Yellow (56) exterior is in good driver condition. As one
can see in the photos the finish has a nice gloss and smooth
finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The YJ8 aluminum wheels
look great with a nice finish and no curb rash. The Goodyear Eagle
ST tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized
225/70R15. There are no major blemishes that have been
intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some small touch
ups, bumps, cracks, and other small imperfections that were too
faint to show up in the photos, but nothing that is very noticeable
from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos
of the underside of the car, it is clean underneath. We have
included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show
how this car looks.
Window Date Codes
Please note that ALL of the glass on this Corvette is date coded
and original each piece predates the car's body build date of
December 4th, 1975 (E04). Original glass is a good indication that
this car has had no major accident history and never sustained
significant damage.
Windshield - CI - "C" is November and "I" is 1975 so this window is
original, made in November of 1975. This is correct as it predates
the build date of the car.
Driver's Window - CI - "C" is November and "I" is 1975 so this
window is original, made in November of 1975. This is correct as it
predates the build date of the car.
Passenger Window - CI - " C" is November and "I" is 1975 so this
window is original, made in November of 1975. This is correct as it
predates the build date of the car.
Rear Window - YI - "Y" is October and "I" is 1975 so this window is
original, made in October of 1975. This is correct as it predates
the build date of the car.
Interior
The Dark Brown Leather (692) interior in this Corvette is in
fantastic condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the
lenses are clear. The door panels are in wonderful shape and both
door pulls are solid and intact. The carpet is in excellent
condition with no rips or holes. This included the rear carpet,
which is often neglected. The seats are in great shape overall and
look just as nice in person as they do in the photos. The seat is
not overly worn in the typical spot on the bolster where the driver
gets in and out. There are a few spots on the passenger seat. The
dash and center console look good with no sun fading, there are a
few cracks on the dash. The original radio does not work, but most
importantly the dash has never been modified or cut for an
aftermarket installation. The jack and jack handle are still with
the car, stored correctly in the compartment behind the passenger
seat. The spare is also still with the car. Please note that both
seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem on
C3 Corvettes and an issue many buyers do not think to check. This
Corvette has never been smoked in and there is no aroma of
cigarettes.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the
great overall condition of this interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its
life.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. The numbers
matching L48 engine starts right away every time, runs well, and
idles smoothly. It drives great on the road and at highway speeds.
In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the
highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking
to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there
are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The
transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. The brakes
are responsive and do not pull left or right. The car runs cool and
does not overheat. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite
fast for its time. Also, the engine compartment is clean, detailed,
and correct as one can see in the photos. The original stamped
steel valve covers, air cleaner, and upper ignition shielding are
all still in place.
The horn works as do the exterior lights, interior lights, dash
lights, indicators, wipers, and even the key buzzer. The "door
ajar" light works. The vacuum system for the headlights works
correctly. Also, the headlights go up correctly with either the
headlight switch on the dash or vacuum override switch under the
column. Their complete operation from both switches can be viewed
in the video. The right headlight bucket could stand to be
adjusted. The blower for the heater works on all speeds except
high. The air conditioning does not work. All of the gauges work
with the obvious exception of the clock. The car now has a true
dual exhaust system with no catalytic converter and a very healthy
exhaust note as one can hear in the video. It is a pleasure to
drive this Stingray, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful
day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1976 Corvette Stingray is nice driver condition. The
low mileage, the beautiful original color combination, and the
excellent overall condition make this Stingray particularly
desirable and very hard to duplicate. Numbers matching is very
important in the Corvette market and in Corvette pricing and as one
can see this car...for more information please contact the seller.
