1963 Thunderbird Fastback Italien. 1 of 2 made. Ford Custom.
Concept car. The first one created for the Ford Custom Caravan that
toured the country in the early sixties. It was built from an
original Thunderbird and a fiberglass roof and trunk were designed
and made. Also many exterior trim features and custom interior,
etc. were made. Then that first one was sold to Dale Robertson the
actor TV star in Hollywood in the sixties. The car went to a
Thunderbird specialist in the Hollywood area that proceded to copy
the car and build another second one from an original Thunderbird.
The first car was restored and sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction
in 2008 for $660,000 see at

The second car that's now being offered for sale needs to be
restored. The first car was sold to Dale Robertson the actor TV
star in Hollywood in the sixties. The car went to a Thunderbird
specialist in the Hollywood area that proceeded to copy the car and
build the second one from an original Thunderbird. Instead of the
first car that used fiberglass, the second car was done with a
steel roof and trunk. It also has many custom features. Some work
has already been started. Has M-code tri-power carburetion and the
air cleaner top, it's not in the photos. I think this car is well
worth finishing restoring. The other one sold for $660,000* in
2008.The car is now in storage in San Diego.
