Vehicle Description
Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 26th year in the
classic and muscle car business. As horsepower waned during the
smog-sapped 1970's, more attention was paid to comfort and
convenience, particularly in the personal luxury class. Although
pioneered by Ford's own T-Bird, by the mid-'70's they needed
something to compete with the less-expensive Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Largely based on Mercury's Cougar, Ford introduced the Elite as the
top trim level in the 1974 Gran Torino line. Interestingly, in its
final year of 1976 the Elite became a stand alone model that few
people remember today. Our cool 1976 Ford Elite is a great example
of the model and a time capsule for 1970's personal luxury coupes.
Beneath the long hood is Ford's stalwart 351W V8 (H), an engine
renowned for its reliability and the ease with which it accepts
modifications. Additional features include power steering, power
front disc brakes, air conditioning, automatic transmission,
correct paint and trim codes (P 47NG, T DG), rare dealer-installed
AM/FM/8-Track Quadrasonic stereo, full instrumentation, and
215/75R15 tires wrapped around steel wheels with original covers.
For fans of 1970's American iron it doesn't get much better than a
massive triple-green coupe that feels as if it's floating on a
cloud. A great car for someone interested in joining the old car
hobby. This cool and comfortable cruiser is a lot of car for the
money, comes with a Deluxe Marti Report, and needs only a new
caretaker. Another unusual find from the team that can make your
dream a reality. Disco tapes and bell bottom jeans not included.
