The 2002 Acura NSX marked a significant moment in the evolution of
this iconic sports car, combining high performance, precision
engineering, and a refined driving experience. By the early 2000s,
the NSX had already established a reputation as a reliable and
accessible supercar, known for its balance of power and everyday
usability, making it distinct from other high-performance vehicles
of its time.
The 2002 NSX was powered by a 3.2-liter V6 engine that produced 290
horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual
transmission (or a 4-speed automatic in some models). The car could
accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just under 6 seconds, maintaining a
top speed of approximately 170 mph. Its mid-engine design provided
excellent handling and agility, aided by an aluminum construction
that kept the weight down while offering superior rigidity.
One of the most notable features of the 2002 NSX was its timeless
design, which remained largely unchanged since its debut in 1990.
Its low, sleek profile and smooth, flowing lines made it a visually
stunning car that continued to turn heads. The interior featured a
minimalist, driver-focused layout, with high-quality materials and
advanced features for the era.
Although production of the NSX would continue until 2005, the 2002
version stands as a testament to Acura's commitment to producing a
world-class sports car. The NSX was well-regarded for its
reliability, smooth ride, and superb handling, offering a different
approach to the supercar experience compared to its more raw and
aggressive competitors. The 2002 NSX solidified its place in
automotive history as a high-performance machine that combined
precision and practicality.
This example was delivered new to Pikes Peak Acura in Colorado
Springs, CO. It was held by its original owner until recently being
acquired. The owner traded in his 1994 Acura NSX toward this car.
The original owner paid the original selling dealer had the
Comptech Supercharger installed prior to taking delivery. The
original owner kept fastidious service records which accompany the
car.
The owner paid $121,895 for this car back in 2002. This car is as
clean as it was new. It just underwent a full cryogenic cleaning,
fluid service, new battery and new tires as the original tires were
dry rotted. This is a rare opportunity to own a single owner
example of a modern collector car that can be driven and enjoyed
for a fraction of its competitors.
