According to the Porsche Kardex, this 356 was originally delivered
to the first owner, Arthur Rock, in San Francisco, California, by
P.C. Pacific in Burlington, California. European Collectibles sold
this 356 in 1998; the husband purchased it for his wife as a
surprise for her 50th birthday. It was a California T6 356B
Cabriolet that was shipped to New York in 1998, used at their
summer home in Connecticut, and has been under the same ownership
for 27 years.
The Cabriolet has been meticulously maintained and enjoyed over the
years. In 2022, the 356 was repainted in Silver Metallic. In 2024,
the braking system was rebuilt with all new components. Most
recently, European Collectibles purchased this 356; in this
process, the front seats were reupholstered, new charcoal German
square weave carpets were installed, and the VDO instrumentation
have been restored. This 356B Cabriolet benefits from a performance
Super-90 engine that has been recently tuned. Original factory
options feature armrests, chrome-plated wheels, CoCo mats, a
side-view mirror, seatbelts, a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, two
loudspeakers, an antenna, and a chrome luggage rack.
The paintwork is in excellent condition, with nice gaps and panel
fit. All glass is original, including a Sigla windshield and
Sekurit side windows. The VDM steering wheel is positioned in front
of the VDO instrumentation with a Porsche radio delete plate. The
glove box houses a discreet Alpine stereo system with dual speakers
and an electrical kill switch under the dash. It is equipped with 5
" x 15" chrome wheels fitted with Super hubcaps, mounted to
Vredestein Sprint Classic 165 HR15 tires (date coded 2024).
It is powered by a 1600cc flat-four Super-90 engine (Type 616/7)
that generates 90 horsepower, paired with a manual 4-speed
transmission (Type 741) and four-wheel drum braking system. It is
complete with an owner's manual, an Alpine radio manual, a spare
wheel, a boot cover, and recent service records. This 356B T6
Cabriolet features a Super-90 engine for enhanced performance and
is finished in a desirable color combination.
