Vehicle Description
When it comes to fun in the sun, there is nothing like a drop-top
V-8 muscle car. Of course, the only thing better would be having a
car like this extremely rare Bright Rally Red 2002 Chevrolet Camaro
GMMG Performance Edition 35th Anniversary Convertible. Beginning
life as a Z28, SLP acquired this single-owner car and turned it
into an SS Anniversary Package. After that upgrade, the owner
called GMMG and got this car onto a list for the tuner's Phase II
performance treatment, resulting in a massively powerful pony car
that is one of just fifty made for 2002.
Inside and underneath that power convertible top, we find a
well-cared-for black and grey leather interior featuring a trick
set of white-faced gauges along with a digital odometer reminding
you how many miles this car still has left to go. 35th Anniversary
badging on the tach, headrests, radio, and floormats reminds you
this car is more than your average Camaro. Power windows, locks,
mirrors, and driver's seat add plenty of modern convenience to this
old-school muscle car, while the stock AM/FM/CD stereo (complete
with a trunk-mounted six-disc changer) provides a healthy-sounding
soundtrack to any road trip.
Under that signature scooped SS hood, we find a GMMG-modified
5.7-liter LS1 V8 engine. With a nearly bulletproof motor, this SS
received upgraded internals, heads, and cam to help this Bowtie
Beast put down a whopping 525 horsepower. All those ponies are then
funneled through a tried-and-true Tremec T56 six-speed manual
transmission before being sent out to the stock ten-bolt rear,
where a set of 3.42 gears wait to send all that power to the
pavement via a set of seventeen-inch wheels shod in 275/40ZR-17
Nitto rubber.
