For Sale: 1948 Hudson Commodore in Cadillac, Michigan
1948 Hudson Commodore Six. Other than self-inflicted dent on
driver's door, the body is in excellent shape. ( I hit the starter
button not realizing the car was in reverse. I have a replacement
door with which to repair it.) Car has been converted to 12volts to
accommodate air conditioner, electric wipers, and electric fuel
pump. It has front disc brakes, electronic ignition, and 3-speed
overdrive transmission (on the column). Radio does not work, but
original fuel and temperature gauges are functional. I created the
wiring harness and installed two fuse boxes after the original
cloth wiring nearly caught fire 24 years ago. The engine runs well,
but could stand a tuneup. It is equipped with a modern high speed
starter. The rear bumper area underneath has the typical rust
issues common to Hudsons, but the main frame in the rear has been
reinforced by welding one inch thick plates. I replaced the leaf
springs approximately 10 years ago. The trunk emblem has been
converted into a third brake light. Side view mirrors have
directional turn signal lights installed. condition: good
cylinders: 6 cylinders drive: rwd fuel: gas odometer: 100,000 title
status: clean transmission: manual type: sedan odometer broken
