Highly upgraded tribute car! It has the Shelby looks, upgraded
performance, plus a 5 speed manual, and even air conditioning, but
not the genuine Shelby price tag. This car was built to be driven,
and that's the only thing the new owner needs to do because all the
hard work has already been done!
EXTERIOR: This fastback is decked out just like the originals
including bullet mirrors, fiberglass scooped hood, racing pins,
Shelby gas cap and Shelby emblems. The body is clean, rust free
metal. Painted Winners White with Daytona Blue stripes that are
painted on smooth to the touch. The GT 350 side stripe is also
painted on and virtually smooth to the touch. Everything has been
polished to a smooth and glossy finish. The trim and chrome look
great overall. Shelby style fiberglass front bumper. The windshield
was replaced and the remaining side glass upgraded to smoked glass
with new rubber seals and fuzzy strips too. It even has the modern
version 17 inch aluminum Shelby wheels that are brand new and have
spinner center caps. They are wrapped in radial tires that are a
little fatter in the back.
INTERIOR: Overall in excellent shape with several upgrades. In
front of you is a set of matched AutoMeter Ultra-Lite carbon fiber
gauges including a tachometer. It also has a digital stereo that
fits in the factory hole but has been bypassed. The actual stereo
was mounted under the dash and has a Kicker bass controller too. 2
6x9's and a subwoofer are custom mounted neatly in the back panel.
It has a fold down rear seat that was nicely refinished and
complete with seatbelts. The sail panel vents are also functional.
The front seats were restuffed and reupholstered and have the
running ponies embossed on the back. It has an aftermarket leather
wrapped steering wheel on a replaced tilt column. The door panels
were also replaced and upgraded with power windows. It now has
electronic climate controls and additional vents added under the
dash. An upgraded 5 speed manual shifter sits proudly front and
center. The carpeting has been replaced and a custom hand brake
added between the seats.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Nicely built 302 with lots of performance
parts. It is upgraded with an Edelbrock carburetor, fuel pressure
regulator, Edelbrock high rise intake manifold, MSD electronic
ignition, MSD distributor, and serpentine belt system. Some
features are a modern air conditioning system, hydraulic clutch,
upgraded power steering and a dual reservoir master cylinder. It
runs cool with an aluminum radiator plus it has an overflow bottle
and electric fan. The battery is properly secured and the horn is
hooked up. The underside of the fiberglass hood, fenderwells, and
firewall are all neatly painted black.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
nicely. The weatherstrip was replaced. Inside the trunk is fully
carpeted with bound edges and has custom Shelby logo embroidery.
Under the carpet is extra insulation and Dynomat sound deadener as
well.
UNDERSIDE: The steering components have a fresh look and work well.
The suspension was also refurbished with new shocks all the way
around. It was also upgraded with 4 wheel disc brakes. The exhaust
system was totally redone with long tube headers, an x-pipe, and
stainless Magnaflow mufflers. A new gas tank was installed along
with an external electric fuel pump and inline fuel filter. Looking
up at the engine it is nice and clean with an upgraded extra
capacity oil pan and mini high torque starter. The Borg Warner 5
speed manual transmission is also very clean and fresh looking.
That transfers the power to a beefy fabricated Ford 9" rear end
that is made in the USA by M9 Performance. Frame connectors were
welded in to prevent twisting. The floors are solid and rust free
with neatly applied black paint.
SERVICE: Our shop manager thoroughly inspected this car and we
adjusted the carburetor, rewired the fan, installed a trunk mat,
repaired the passenger window switch, adjusted the brake rod,
replaced the wheels, and repaired the exhaust pipes. After these
repairs we completed a thorough detail cleaning from the topside to
the bottomside.
This is a nice package of looks and performance. A real Shelby
would cost $200,000-$900,000 and this one is better! Time to have
some fun and be financially smart with this killer Shelby
tribute!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
