Sporting a rugged patina finish, this 1966 Volkswagen Beetle
embodies authentic classic car culture with its carefully
cultivated weathered green exterior. Lowered onto the asphalt with
custom narrowed beam and drop spindles, it exudes a cool, retro
vibe that's impossible to ignore. The chrome bumpers add a gleaming
contrast to the vintage patina, while the 15" chrome 5-spoke wheels
with Porsche center caps nail the modified VW aesthetic. Up top,
the removable roof rack adds practicality and style. This Beetle
rolls on BFG Radial TA tires (195/60R15 front, 205/60R15 rear) that
fill the wheel wells perfectly, completing its ground-hugging
stance.
The Terracotta interior presents a warm, inviting atmosphere with
quality TMI vinyl bucket seats front and rear. Two-tone door cards
harmonize perfectly with the seating surfaces, while an EMPI GT
wood steering wheel adds a performance touch. This Beetle offers
modern audio capabilities with a retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo
system complete with speakers integrated into the kick panels and
rear package tray. The EMPI headliner maintains the clean
appearance overhead, and the Gilmore Enterprises air conditioning
system keeps things comfortable during hot weather cruising. Orange
carpet below ties the entire cabin together in a cohesive
package.
The 1968cc Mexico-spec Beetle engine, professionally built by
Doug's Buggs in late 2021, delivers spirited performance with EMPI
dual port heads and dual single-barrel carburetors. A freeway flyer
4-speed manual transmission with 3.88 gearing offers excellent
highway capability and acceleration. The braking system consists of
disc brakes at all four corners for reliable stopping power. The
suspension features a custom narrowed front beam with adjustable
rear spring plates, giving this VW its perfect stance. A newer dual
exhaust system with shorty manifolds and aftermarket mufflers
produces that classic VW sound.
