Chevrolet Trucks have changed a lot over the years, with each model year and generation offering unique features that helped them redefine what a pickup was capable of. At the end of WWII, Chevrolet produced a new style to the Chevrolet Truck known as the “Advanced Design”, which lasted from 1947 to March 1955. These series of trucks have become very popular in the modern world with automotive builders, restorers and owners. Almost anything and everything has been done to one of these trucks.
This 1948 Chevrolet Pickup in particular, has been restored and enjoyed over the years. Staring life in Norwood, OH as DeLuxe 3600 (3/4Ton) Pickup Truck built for commercial use on a 125.25in Chassis and powered by the 235-Thriftmaster Inline-6. Over the years this truck was used as a work truck on the road, but it did mange to find it way down to Florida in 1989. Since then, it has seen a few changes, but was still used and enjoyed as a classic truck that was daily driven.
The 235-Thirstmaster was replaced with a Built 5.8L 355 V8 (Bored 30-Over) & fitted with a TH350 Automatic Transmission. Plus a few modern upgrades; such as an Aluminum Radiator w/ Electric Fan, Power Steering & Front Powered Brakes w/ a Ford Ranger IFS Sub-Frame. The Interior features a Tilt Steering Column, Bluetooth Radio and Classic Auto Air A/C. This truck was frame-off restored to be a driver in the modern world and she still turns heads to stand out from the rest of the commons cars on the road today.
