ORIGINAL/RESTORED 1986 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER FJ60-4dr. Wagon 4x4 6-cyl. 5 Speed manual.
For sale by 2nd Texas owner (original owner San Antonio TX on January 30, 1986) an original factory-spec FJ60. Considered my many enthusiasts and arguably the most beautiful Landcruiser (according to editors at Hagerty’s Classic’s). 1987 was the last of round headlights). This ‘Cruiser is beautiful and gets loads of admiration, and it is equally at home in the Kimbell Art Museum (see photos) or on the back country off-roads. I have purchased a 3/4T truck for my business.

I purchased this FJ60 in original unrestored condition in 2020. Mechanical very sound with the factory 4-speed manual. Everything worked. It had the original factory paint in good thirty-four year old condition. I had a fender bender * (rear quarter panel) and the original paint was rendered impossible to match. I elected a full repaint (see Exterior). I have provided as much information as necessary to described the condition of my 'Cruiser now in 2025. Best of all it now has a wonderful factory-in-the-crate Toyota 5-speed manual (see mechanical) to go with the factory Part-Time four-wheel drive. There are eight photos attached.
CARFAX HISTORY SUMMARY: No Total Loss, No Structural Damage, No Airbag Deployment, NO Indication of Odometer Rollback, Clean Title (no salvage, junk,rebuilt,fire,flood,lemon). One (1) reported Accident *.
Body-on-Frame restoration by 2nd owner-TX licensed Professional (Mechanical) Engineer (P.E.). Completed sorted with no detail overlooked to ensure driving pleasure and reliability.
Exterior: Complete repaint (from original paint) in 1986 Toyota factory LC Metallic Silver, including factory blue pin stripping; Complete body, door jams, tailgate, underhood, and firewall. All exterior stainless steel trim removed and polished. Note: It has the seldom retained Rocker Panel stainless Moldings. All rubber removed and/or replaced as needed. New front/original rear bumper. Fender spash guards.OEM Toyota "Euro" large door mirrors. Factory glass (except front windshield-one chip; replaced when?). OEM Toyota Halogen headlights. Headlight Washers, Windsheild Washers, Rear Glass Washer/Defroster-all in perfect working order.
Interior: Bucket Seats-new reproduction original factory pattern Seats cloth and complete new foam padding; ditto rear bench seat. Very nice original Door Panels, Headliner. Original Carpet throughout. New leather Ebrake cover. Factory passenger Grab-Bar, factory (rare) In-dash Inclinometer/ Digital Clock, factory Throttle Pull, original Dash Pad (two small cracks-otherwise very nice no fade/warp-have carpet dash cover also), new Turn Signal column switch. Cold AC. Proper working AC/H/DEF dash vents. All factory controls and instrumentation in proper working order.
Mechanical: Original 2F Inline 6-cyl. Engine (history states a Toyota licensed GMC 270 c.i.) with 170K original miles. Recent Engine reseal (front/rear main, pan gasket); excellent compression check. Idles and runs very well with all factory-smog intact (as an original should be). All factory plastic Canisters intact-Windshield Wipers, Headlights, Radiator overflow. New AAA battery. New Power Steering Pump. Recent complete Front-end rebuild w/Knuckle-Joints, etc. new Urethane leaf-springs Bushings, New Radiator and Cap (engine runs cool in 100 deg.F. TX summer heat and frigid cold). Recent brake service-front/rear. Locking Hubs services. New Lift gate Struts.
Recent factory (in crate) Toyota 5-speed manual transmission conversion by Toyota factory trained technician and Landcruiser repair shop (renowned in 5 State area). New Clutch, Disc, Bearing, resurfaced Flywheel. NOTE: This is the single most improvement to any FJ60 as the 5-Speed (over drive fifth gear) completely transforms the Wagon into a highway cruiser (75mph at 2600rpm).
Complete Transfer case inspection (no mechanical issues) and reseal. Driveshaft and u-joints inspection. Differentials serviced.
Recent Yokohama Geolander ATX tires (<1000 mi) on the factory Toyota Landcruiser steel wheels (see photo). Great ride.
TOYOTA MISC: OEM Toyota “steelies” 15” steel wheels/hubcaps; with factory shipping cartons as proof. Factory Chrome-spoke wheels/caps (excellent condition; not shown). Factory ignition key and Owners Manual in factory Vinyl packet. Factory sales brochure. Toyota Selling Dealership original license plate frame. Factory Jack, and all Tools in canvas bag-no reproductions. NOTE: Recent Toyota of Fort Worth oil/filter change and service. Always 'executive wash, wax and detail".
Accessories: ALPINE CD/FM-FM Radio; one speaker rattles. HELLA 6” driving lights w/ factory Toyota uplifter dash switch. WEATHER TECH mats throughout.
SUMMARY: I have spared no expense and overlooked no shortcomings since I acquired this 'Cruiser in 2020. Having looked extensively prior to purchasing this one, there are FJ60s in varying conditions that require work of unknown/unanticipated troubles and problems. Mine is a solid, rattle-free vehicle that is very apparent upon driving; a pleasure on the open highway in 5th gear with low engine RPM.
I'm offering my FJ60 at a reasonable price in consideration of its' condition and improvements. If you are in the market, come to see and drive an outstanding 1986 FJ60 Landcruiser, you would not be disappointed in mine.
