ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC AND CLASSIC designs ever developed by Mercedes Benz. Inspired by the Grand 600 from the 60's and aimed at competing for the attention of a select and refined consumer, the W140 V12 S600 was the creation of Bruno Sacco and Paul Bracq and was in production from 1991 until 1998. Many of the components which makes this car syand above and beyond many of the high end luxury cars of that period (including the Rolls Royce and Bentley from this generation) included double pane windows, soft close doors and boot, rear parking markers, jam protection feature for the electric windows and an immense cabin which can comfortably accommodate 5 passengers. If you're in the market for a large, comfortable, long distance cruiser with future classic status, this car may be for you.( I'm in the marker for a 600 from the 1970-74 era which is why I am parting with this auto now). The W140 S600 has a formidable reputation as one of Mercedes; last "over-engineered" cars, which benefitted from the type of planning, testing and engineering fit for a space shuttle design, rather than a consumer vehicle. Know that I have maintained this car since ownership and no expense has been spared in making this car function as it should. It has been garaged kept its' come into my care; slight scratches and minor bumper pain chips are the only visible signs of wear. Most everything under the hood has been addressed including the replacement of the wiring harness. All features work as expected with the exception of the rear screen window visor and the cd player which is mounted in the trunk. Accident free with an immaculate interior. All interested parties are encouraged to invite any qualified mechanic to inspect the car before purchase. Originally offered at $135,000 (in 1993) this car competes and exceeds most luxury high end cars on the road today. It will also outlast anything on the road today as it has held up beyond expectation. If you're looking for good gas mileage, take a pass on this one. If you're looking for safety, presence and integrity-here it is.
