Description:
This 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is finished in Glacier White over
Parchment leather and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a
five-speed automatic transmission. The car has 7k miles. Equipment
includes a body-color removable hardtop, a black soft top, 18?
five-spoke AMG wheels, power-adjustable seats, automatic climate
control, cruise control, a cassette stereo, and a Bose sound
system. This R129 is offered on dealer consignment at no reserve

Interior:
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a
7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil
pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The power-adjustable seats
are upholstered in Parchment leather while burl wood accents the
doors and center stack. Amenities include a deployable roll bar, a
removable wind deflector, a heated rear hardtop window, a cassette
stereo, a Bose sound system, seat position memory, automatic
climate control, and cruise control. The headlight switch and
headliner were replaced in 2021.
Exterior:
The car is finished in Glacier White (143) and features a matching
removable hardtop, a black soft top, headlight wipers, fog lights,
fender air vents, and a power antenna. A dent on the left rear
quarter panel was repaired, the front bumper cover and left front
fender were repainted, and the soft top hydraulic cylinders were
replaced along with the left side mirror in 2021. The 18?
five-spoke AMG wheels are mounted with 245/40 front and 275/35 rear
Sumitomo HTR Z5 tires.
Drivetrain:
The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 347
lb-ft of torque. Service in February 2021 involved changing the
oil, flushing the coolant, and replacing the crankshaft actuator
gaskets, fuel filter, air filter, serpentine belt, battery, and
hood insulation pad. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc
brakes with ABS. The front ball joints were replaced in 2021. Power
is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic
transmission, the fluid for which was changed in 2021.
