Fuel Required is excited to present this ultra-rare 1966 Mercury
Cyclone GT convertible in our McDonald, PA showroom. Only 2,158 GT
convertibles were ever produced and very few were painted in
Emberglo Poly. This Colorado based car, purchased new at Bob
Elliott Lincoln-Mercury in Colorado Springs, is super straight and
solid and has undergone an extensive professional restoration. This
Mercury muscle car is powered by a numbers-matching 390 "S-Code"
four-barrel engine producing 335 horsepower mated to a Sport shift
Merc-O-Matic transmission and a 3.25 locker rear differential
upgrade. The car benefits from an extensive concourse restoration
which included new paint, interior and refurbished mechanicals.
Finished in Emberglo Poly, the paint and bright work are simply
beautiful. Other attributes include: -Power steering -Heavy duty
fade resistant power brakes -Fiberglass hood with air scoops -Heavy
duty springs -Large-diameter stabilizer bar -Heavy duty factory
styled wheels with correct trim rings -Original chrome selling
dealer trunk emblem included -Engine dress-up kit -Bucket seats
-Rare factory AM-FM radio (Original AM radio included) -New
convertible top -Super-Rare dash mounted tachometer The Mercury
Cyclone is a special automobile that was marketed by the Mercury
division of Ford from 1964 to 1971. Introduced in 1964 as the
Mercury Comet Cyclone, the Cyclone replaced the S-22 as the
performance-oriented version of the Mercury Comet model line.
Within Mercury, the Cyclone was positioned between the Cougar pony
car and the Marquis/Marauder full-size two-doors. Though largely
overshadowed by the Cougar, the Cyclone was positioned as a muscle
car, representing the Mercury brand in racing as a clone of the
Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt. This car drives and handles like a
dream, blending the charm of vintage design with the ease of modern
drivability and power. With only 35,150 miles on the odometer, this
Cyclone GT stands as a tribute to classic American craftsmanship.
The buyer will receive all the original paperwork including owner's
manual and warranty card which was never used or registered (both
in great condition). The Cyclone GT Convertible is very rare with
slightly over 2,200 ever produced; there are not many left like
this one finished in Emberglo Poly in such amazing condition. We
strongly recommend, welcome, and encourage personal or professional
inspections of any vehicle in our inventory prior to purchase. A
