1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition Why This Car Is Special
We have a great looking, low mileage of only 32k miles, rare 1982
Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition here today at Skyway Classics.
It is one of only 6,759 commemorative cars built before General
Motors shut the books on the C3. For many enthusiasts and critics
alike, the 1982 Collectors Edition Corvette was the best C3 of them
all. David McLellan stated that it was €a unique combination of
color, equipment and innovation resulting in one of the most
comprehensive packages ever offered to the Corvette buyer.€ 1982
Corvettes were a special year because it was the first year
Corvettes were built at the new 1-million-square-foot plant in
Bowling Green, Kentucky plant only. Features 1982 Chevrolet

1982 Corvette had two engineering advances, the Cross-Fire
Injection and a 4-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive
fourth gear. Cross-fire injection was new under the hood and it had
dual throttle-body fuel injectors that added to overall improved
acceleration for 1982. Ours has that engine that looks just as it
did when it left the factory as it sits in a very clean and tidy
engine compartment. The engine has a compression ratio of 9.0 to 1
so it will use regular gas, has a low-back-pressure dual exhaust
system, free-flowing monolith catalytic converter, a conventional
snorkel with new hood that ducts outside air directly into the air
cleaners during wide-open throttle operation through a
solenoid-controlled door which opens on signal. It has the factory
correct cleaner lid, cast black finned valve covers, power
steering, power four-wheel disc brakes with dual hydraulic circuits
and brake warning light, computer control system, as well as an
auxiliary electric engine cooling fan and rides on performance
black sidewall tires and factory correct wheels. Interior The
interior is arguably more interesting than the exterior. The
metallic leather seat package that was optional on late-C3s is
taken one step further with a multi-tone fade on the seats and
doors. It is loaded with standard features and options like power
windows, power locks, a power driver€s seat, power mirrors, a
tilt/telescopic steering column, cruise control, electric rear
defrost, air conditioning, Tinted glass, T-tops that you can store,
and an AM/FM/cassette stereo radio system. Even the floor mats are
enclosed in plastic as this Corvette from top to bottom shows as
new. Exterior It has the striking Collector Edition pain
