General Motors when it created this 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
Supercharged Dale Earnhardt Jr. Edition. Much like the Intimidator
Edition we also have for sale (as of this writing), this one-owner
car (the same owner as the Dale Sr. car) sports custom exterior
graphics featuring Dale Jr.'s signature and his car number 8
displayed to advertise that this is not an ordinary Monte Carlo.
Lower ride height, stiffer springs, and a larger anti-roll bar than
the stock SS all make this car's original Victory Red paint look
and feel more impressive. With just 264 actual miles on its
odometer, this special collector car looks as factory-new as a
21-year-old vehicle can.
Inside, we find Earnhardt Jr. embroidered headrests and floor mats,
while a signature-style speedometer and dash plaque remind both
driver and passenger that this car is not your average Monte Carlo.
A power sunroof, air-conditioning, cruise control, heated power
seats, power windows, locks, and mirrors all add a significant
amount of modern convenience to the plush black leather interior.
As an added bonus, the marker that Dale Jr. used to sign the hood
of this car is inside the center console.
Under the hood, we find a surprisingly potent 3800 Series II
3.8-liter supercharged V-6 that, when new, puts down an impressive
240 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels via
a four-speed automatic transaxle. Sleek edition-specific 17-inch
alloy wheels shod in 235/55R-17 Goodyear rubber give this Earnhardt
Jr. car hints of his father's Intimidator DNA.
