Vehicle Description
1967 would be the first year for the Mercury Cougar and with sales
far exceeding expectations would make it a pretty instant hit, in
fact, The cougar would account for nearly 40% of the entire
Lincoln-Mercury division that year. Only V8's were offered this
year with a standard 289 and the 390 Cubic inch option that would
put out an impressive 320 HP. It would also be Motor Trends "Car of
the Year". This particular car is a 390 optioned car mated to a
floor shift 3-speed. It would also be ordered radio delete as this
car was sold new to a farmer in Winipeg, Canada where there were no
radio stations to be had. The car was in storage for many years
until it came out and went to a Ford dealer for service. At that
time the car was purchased by a doctor in 1992 and would be
mechanically gone through and restored and would be used sparingly
post 1996. The car came to the states in 2006 and would change
hands one more time from what we can gather. There is some surface
rust on the underside as that was never touched during restoration.
It looks like paint and interior were done but the rest of the car
looks to be mostly original. There appears to be no major rust or
rot, the paint still shines up nicely, the car starts nicely and
goes down the road really nice. We welcome and questions or
inspections of the car.
