Here we have a true unicorn from the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. When was the last time you saw one or have you ever? This is as good an example of a Delta 88 Holiday coupe than you'll probably ever get a chance to own or even feast your eyes on.
Sold new on March 16th 1968 at Minton Chevrolet Oldsmobile in West Virginia, This car until it's most recent owner here in Massachusetts acquired it, spent most of it's life in West Virginia. With a short stint in Ohio (2005) and then Texas. A beautiful and very expensive (We have receipts said to equal over $40K!) cosmetic restoration was performed while in Texas in 2006-2007. The original color coded Nocturne Blue Poly was lightened just a bit on the quality repaint to give the car just that much more pop and pop it does! The paint is an absolute top notch job. So shiny and clear it appears you could literally dive into it. That partnered with the correct white vinyl top installed gives the car a classy look nobody can deny.
It gets even better on the inside. A very original and tidy cabin wearing most of it's factory installed off white vinyl seat coverings (It's believed just the front seat bottom has been reupholstered using correct OE material from SMS Fabrics.). The carpeting and rear package tray were replaced with correct replacements. Possibly the headliner as well as it looks too good to be original. There is one seam split on the front seat back and on the rear seat bottom as seen in the pics. The dashboard is proper and free of any defects. Beautiful original woodgrain trim, padding and controls. Not a fully loaded example but has all the right stuff. Mr Vanness knew how to order a car as these are the options he chose when purchasing it new in 68..

This Oldsmobile is well sorted and maintained. It's most recent owner is a Oldsmobile collector and fanatic. No corners cut. It's just time to downsize the collection. The Comfortron system seems to operate as designed but the A/C compressor doesn't kick on so we assume there's little or no freon inside. The factory AM radio is temperamental yet the optional 8-track player does work great. Along with the car, the next caretaker will get original manuals, including the factory service manual, a dealer data book ($$) and a quality indoor car cover. Bottom line is that this is a beautiful and rare Oldsmobile you'll be proud to own and show off. Everyone will assume you paid twice as much!
