MAKE AN OFFER! Here we have in my estimation one of the best looking cars of the 60's. A first generation Cougar. Finished in a light yellow over a black bench seat interior and black vinyl roof. When new it must have been a stunner. A 302 V8 under the hood with a floor mounted three speed manual stick shift transmission behind it.
She's certainly not the prettiest example you've ever seen but one thing I can say is that this car runs amazingly well. Was used as a daily driver by it's previous owner. Passed RI inspection. All the lights work, including the cool sequential tail light directionals. Headlight door open and close, although the left one sometimes needs help closing tightly. A recent dual exhaust system, brake work and a clutch make for a few things less to worry about.
Very obviously the body has it's issues. Rust is present on just about every panel to various degrees. The undercarriage is surprisingly clean with the exception of the drivers front floor section and rail (an easy fix). The upper dashboard has corroded too which I've never seen but hear it's common on these. See the gallery of photos for a better idea.
This is not a car I would suggest a ground up restoration on. Use this car as a learning experience. Don't do a thing to it and bat around town with it as the last guy did. Maybe a father son (or daughter) project. Modify it as you wish. It's a blank slate. I would prefer an in person viewing on this one.
Again, check out the gallery of photos and request the walk around video I have to share. It shows the car running, ect...Also, feel free to make a reasonable offer. We realize this is not a car for everyone but still a fantastic opportunity at a bargain price!
