Introduction: 502 crate engine! 4 speed manual trans! This is a
clean car that still has the original interior, metal, and paint in
the jambs and trunk. I sold this car 10 years ago, in that time he
put the new crate engine and a 4-speed manual in it, plus a list of
other upgrades. He only drove it 3,500 miles since then. Despite
the color combination, there is no way you can feel blue when
behind the wheel of this classic muscle car!
EXTERIOR: Original clean metal! Looking down the side of the arrow
straight body there are no disappointments, just nice and straight
steel that fits right with no rust showing. All the panels are
beautifully aligned with consistent gaps that are spot on. The
doors close easily with minimal effort. It has been repainted only
1 time. Actually, the jambs are still original including the
weatherstrips! The Mist Blue paint presents very nicely with a
smooth finish and reflective shine. The smoked glass has all been
replaced and is not a tint. The bumpers have been rechromed and the
remaining trim is nice and shiny. The front grille is in wonderful
shape and it has the correct T3 headlights. It has a power antenna.
Rolling on a set of 15" Torque Thrust II wheels with a polished
lip. They are wrapped in a good set of Cooper Cobra Radial G/T
tires.
INTERIOR: It's mostly original! Still looks great too. The
upholstery looks new at first glance, but it has just enough patina
when you look close to make you believe it is original. It's
equipped with seatbelts front and back so you can take the entire
family four cruise. The door panels and side panels are in
fantastic shape. The steering wheel has likely been refurbished
with nice and shiny chrome. The Hurst 4 speed manual shifter is a
blast to throw around. The dash pad is not cracked. The dash itself
has been completely redone with a custom panel and custom white
face gauges also. Radio delete. The dome light is working. 90% of
the car has been rewired according to the previous owner.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: GM crate 502 making 461hp and 585lbs of torque!
It was topped off with a Bowtie aluminum intake, Holley double
pumper carburetor, plus K&N air filter. It is flanked by a nice
set of long tube headers. The bay was really cleaned up via a
billet aluminum serpentine drive system by March performance.
Additionally, the power steering pump and alternator are a very
attractive billet aluminum. The car is also equipped with power
brakes and a proportioning valve. It has a full MSD electronic
ignition system, including the distributor. It has an upgraded
aluminum radiator by Be Cool that also has an electronic fan
mounted to it. The battery is properly secured and the squirters
are hooked up. The underside of the hood is complete with
insulation and the original cowl tag is in place. Only 3,500 miles
since the motor was installed by the previous owner.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's original in here too! Under the trunk lid
has original paint and the original 57 year old sticker! The jamb
is original with a replacement weatherstrip. This is not something
you will hardly ever see, the gray spatter paint inside is from the
factory! It is complete with the jack and spare, a reproduction mat
and tire cover. It has been upgraded with a power antenna.
UNDERSIDE: The front end steering and suspension was rebuilt. H.D.
springs front and back. In back it has upgraded tubular control
arms, a swaybar and air shocks. The brake system's been gone
through upgraded with disk and front e-brake is working properly Is
a great sounding dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and turn
down tailpipes looking up at the motor it has a high capacity oil
pan and a high torque starter New Richmond 4-speed manual trans,
new Hurst linkage and a performance clutch. 12 bolt rear end with
3.31 gears and a chrome cover. The floors, braces and rockers
appear to be rock solid original metal that was cleaned up and
painted black.
SERVICE: During our inspection we replaced the valve covers,
gaskets and breathers. We fixed the reverse lights, heater blower,
tightened the body mounts, fabricated steering stops so the
steering does not hit the larger oil pan, changed rear end fluid
and gasket and adjusted the e-brake cables.
Really nice example of a good, clean, and honest car. The 502 crate
engine and 4 speed manual transmission will provide you with
turnkey reliability and more than adequate performance for the
street. Nothing to complain about here! Just jump in, go to the
next car show, and enjoy!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
