This 1936 Plymouth 5-Window Coupe emerged from Vegas builder Kent
Hohnstein's shop as a masterful blend of classic style and modern
performance. The custom all-steel body wears a deep dark blue
metallic finish that accentuates every curve. Wide suicide doors
create a dramatic opening, while the one-piece front clip with
clamshell-style hood adds contemporary flair. The staggered Ridler
wheels - 18-inch in front, 20-inch in rear - wrapped in Bridgestone
rubber (235/45R18 Turanza front, 285/45R22 Dueler rear) provide an
aggressive yet refined stance.
The custom gray cloth interior elevates this Plymouth beyond its
pre-war roots. VDO gauges, precisely arranged in a billet cluster,
relay vital information while a Lecarra leather-wrapped wheel
mounted on a tilt column offers precise control. Late-model bucket
seats provide exceptional support, surrounded by custom-matched
headliner and door panels. The Pioneer AM/FM/CD/AUX unit supplies
modern audio options, while air conditioning and power windows
deliver contemporary convenience. Electronic door poppers add a
high-tech touch to the suicide doors.
The forced-induction 350 V8 powerplant dominates with its B&M
supercharger and Carter AFP Competition carburetor working in
perfect harmony. Long-tube headers feed into a FlowMaster dual
exhaust system, creating an authoritative voice. A TH350 3-speed
automatic transmission manages the power output, while coilovers up
front and a triangulated 4-link rear suspension with coilovers keep
everything planted. Front disc brakes and a robust 10-bolt rear
axle round out this high-performance package.
