Here is a bit of MG history. Our 1969 MBG-GT was sold new at the well known "Hollywood Sport Cars" located at 5766 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood California. Chic Vandagriff opened Hollywood Sport Cars in 1960 as a distributor for many British marques. Ferrari was added two years later and soon became the second largest Ferrari dealer in the world. Selling "track prepared" MGBs was also a specialty of the famed dealership. Elvis Presley was a regular customer as well as Steve McQueen who would often just hang out. The MGB-GT was a touring version of the popular MGB roadster and designed by Italian design firm Pininfarina and available in US market from from 1965 to 1974, so finding an example here in the US today can be quite daunting. Our 1969 MGB-GT has just 32,000 actual, original miles according to the Heritage certificate and is a real Black car which also makes this car extremely rare !! Our car was built Nov. 21- Dec. 3 1968 and dispatched Feb. 11, 1969. Options when new were, Wire wheels, heater, white wall tires, ash tray, cigar lighter and octagonal wheel nuts. Documented with owners manual and original Passport to Service booklet with original purchaser info and dealer stamped "Hollywood Sport Cars" with the salesman name. We also have the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certified copy of the factory record commonly referred to simply as the "Heritage Certificate". We also acquired a reproduction of a Hollywood Sport Cars license plate frame. This car was recently treated to a full, professional cosmetic restoration and is as nice as you will ever find. A few liberties were taken including the addition of leather seat covers and "Overdrive." The interior is new throughout. The body is laser straight and Base Coat/Clear Coat black paint is show quality. The engine appears to have been detailed and updated with polished aluminum valve cover and chrome MG embossed air cleaners. We assume that the Overdrive was also added at this time. This car runs and drives just about perfect and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Finding a real, original Black 69 MGB-GT is no small task and with special dealer history, ultra low miles and the added overdrive, this makes this car very special. $2,995.00
