Vehicle Description
Rare 1970 International Flatbed Car Hauler The vehicle is presently
stored in a storage facility where it was driven and parked 19
months ago. This and several other municipal vehicles were
purchased from the city of Chicago about two years ago where these
fleet of trucks were professionally maintained by the city of
Chicago until sold at auction to a collectible car dealership in
Illinois, which is where I acquired it. Recently, these commercial,
COE municipal haulers have been refurbished by automotive restorers
and command some hefty prices on the collector car market, upwards
$32,000 for some cleverly and creatively painted vehicles. This
truck will require some serviceable tires and the general acumen of
a competent mechanic, no computer technology so EVERYTHING is
straightforward. The vehicle was delivered to me about 19 months
ago and the transporters couldn't get the truck started. My brother
showed up with some starter fluid, sprayed some in the carburetor
and the truck fired right up and ran perfectly. He drove the truck
for 20 minutes off the transport into the storage facility where it
sits to this day. No overheating or transmission issues. The truck
will prove to be solid and reliable, just remember it is a 50+ year
old vehicle. I guarantee that the truck does run has no major
issues and can provide a video of the hauler fully operating with a
car on the bed 18 months ago. The truck has one rear tire that
problematically holds air (leaks out within a few days) and the
brakes which were operating reliably 19 months ago are now soft to
none, which can be translated to "you will not be driving this
vehicle "safely" to its next location." I also have the aluminum
ramps to load a car onto the bed and the controller to operate the
bed. I paid over $17,000 when I purchased it off of eBay from an
Illinois car dealership almost two years ago which had 124
"watchers" within 24 hours of being listed, which shows
unparalleled interest in this coveted and collectible car hauler.
You will not be locating a similarly priced vintage, International
COE flatbed car hauler in this condition for anywhere near my
asking price of $9,999. A decent paint job and some very minor
aesthetic and mechanical TLC will very easily double your
investment. Operable, vintage COE flatbed car haulers are NOT easy
to find in unmolested, unrestored condition (and this is not a rust
bucket) and any half-decent restoration on these coveted,
collectible trucks sell for upwards $30,000+ consistently! Clean
title. Please Note The Following **Vehicle Location is at our
