Only 2,399 made for homologation so Dodge could race in the Trans Am series. This car is a completely numbers matching example. This includes the engine, tranny, title, door plate, cowling, and radiator support. The odometer shows 29,276 miles and is believed to be accurate. Have receipt where engine was freshened up at 22,785 miles in 2012. In 2021 it got new fuel lines, and the carbs were rebuilt. Still has the original 2-piece rotors and big mouth calipers. Purrs like a kitten.
The car came equipped with the automatic transmission with the shifter in the console. She still has her all-original interior, and all the original upholstery is soft and comfortable. The dash has a cover installed over the original as they all cracked (from what I understand it was a one year run due to this problem). The original headliner is intact and looks great except one small area (about 5” long) where the stitching is failing after 54 years. It is missing one small trim piece below the radio when someone replaced the original am radio long ago.
This car wears the rare FT6 “Dark Metallic Bronze” paint. It was repainted once in the late 80’s according to the previous owner. This is not a restored car, rather a highly original example with one repaint. All the body panels appear to be original as well as all of the glass. A friend of mine detailed it and did paint readings. The results were 9-12 mils. He was amazed at the quality of the paint, especially knowing it was 35 plus years old. There are one or two small rock chips, but it shows great.
The head of the T/A Registry, Barry Washington, did a report for me. It’s one of 15 known examples in this color. One of 11 with a painted hardtop. Maximum of 1 of 6 color / tranny combo.
This car was originally built for a dealership in California, so it is a N95 car (Ca Emissions) with the ultra-rare triple nipple breather.
As all of you know, Speed Control (Cruise Control) was not available on six pack cars. It was added at a dealership sometime in the early 70’s and is the only known T/A with it that I have found.
I ordered and installed new original Good Year Polyglass GT tires so it would be factory correct. There are zero miles on them as the car has not been street driven in two years. I planned on driving it this past summer, but the County stone and oiled the roads around me and I didn’t want to risk the paint.
The car spent at least 10 years in a very famous Texas oilman’s collection. (Ferrel Davis of Midland Texas. Ferrell received the prestigious “Man of the Year in Texas Agriculture” award in 2001.” Unfortunately, he passed away last year, so I have not been able to trace its history past him.
I really hate to sell this, but Oklahoma recently changed the law helping Sheriff Deputies, so we have an actual 20-year pension. I have a chance to buy back 10 years of service which is close to 100k. I’d rather not pull from my IRA, so I must let her go.
$ 114,900.00 or best offer. If anyone would like additional photographs, videos, or inspections, I am more than happy to oblige. Partial trade will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Serious inquiries only. (Located in NE Oklahoma)
