Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1957 Chevrolet
3100. Just last year this truck was treated to $92K in restoration
work (we have the receipts) and it has only been driven 200 miles
since! The restoration results in a great-looking 68-year-old truck
that offers modern handling ride quality, power to cruise down the
highway in the fast lane, amenities like cold A/C a comfortable
interior, a modern braking system, and even electronic fuel
injection. The list of upgrades and improvements to this truck is
staggering, to say the least. Let's dive a little deeper into this
spectacular '57 Chevy...
This 3100 comes to us dressed in good driver-quality Grey paint
that looks great at five feet, but a closer inspection reveals some
small imperfections. Up front is the iconic 1-year-only large,
open, gleaming chrome grille that makes these '57s stand out in a
crowd. Above the grille on the leading edge of the hood is a chrome
badge with a black "bowtie" at the center. The grille is new and
sports a mirror-finish but the hood badge appears original and is
showing some light pitting. Flanking the grille are single-round
headlights in bright bezels and domed turn signal indicators with
bright trim rings. A chrome bumper hovers beneath to complete the
cool look. The view from the side of the truck is just as awesome
as the front end. Both fenders wear chrome "Chevrolet 3100"
spear-style badges in good condition and bright touches like dual
chrome side mirrors, chrome door handles, and vent window trim
really pop against the grey paint. Both the wrap-around windshield
and the rear window feature brand-new black seals. The original gas
fill still resides on the rear corner of the driver's side of the
cab, but it is just for looks as the gas tank has been relocated to
under the bed and the fill is now on the bed floor. The wheel and
tire treatment couldn't be more perfect - 20" black painted steel
smoothie wheels accented with beauty rings and cool center caps all
wrapped in NittoNT555 G2 tires. The step-side bed boasts a new oak
wood floor with stainless steel strips that look fantastic. The
tailgate has "CHEVROLET" lettering across the rear and it has hook
chain closures. Beneath the gate is another chrome bumper with
chrome exhaust tips poking out from underneath.
Take a peek underneath this truck and feel your heartbeat quicken!
This 3100 is sitting on a brand new custom Heidts chassis that cost
almost $17K! The excitement doesn't end there though - you'll also
find a new EFI under-bed fuel tank with an in-tank fuel pump module
added. The rear end is now set up with a 4-link suspension
including a Panhard kit and coil-over shocks while the front end
features new control arms and a set of coil-overs. New brake lines
lead to a fresh set of 4-wheel disc brakes and a new rear parking
brake kit has also been installed. The undercarriage is so
impeccably clean that you'll want to take some mirrors with you to
the car shows so that you can show it off!
Lift the hood to reveal a clean, organized, and impressive engine
bay. Black side panels and a grey firewall surround a new Chevrolet
350ci V-8 that is topped off with aluminum valve covers, a Weiand
Street Warrior intake manifold, a Holley Sniper fuel injection
system, and a Billet Specialties chrome air cleaner. Ahead of the
V-8 is a new SBC front-runner system ($2,800!) that includes power
steering and a compressor for the Vintage Air system with 134A
refrigerant. Keeping things running cool is a new Griffin aluminum
radiator with an electric fan and a transmission cooler as well.
Exhaust travels through Sanderson headers, new pipes, and new
mufflers to exit the rear with a rumble that will surely put a
smile on your face. The V-8 is mated up to a new 700R4 4-speed
automatic transmission with a 30-spline 2000 stall convertor and a
Ford 9" positraction rear axle. This drivetrain combo offers modern
power, reliability, and the ability to excel in any driving
situation.
Inside the cab, you'll find an attractive and comfortable interior
that welcomes you inside. The doors are simplistic - just grey
painted steel with a tan armrest, door handle, and window crank. An
in-cab step leads you up to the simply beautiful tan distressed
leather-look TMI bench seat ($4,517!). The seat features a
flip-down armrest and a lift-up hidden storage caddy as well as new
seatbelts. Tan elements continue with the headliner and visors for
a cohesive look. The driver is treated to a chrome-plated billet
aluminum half-wrap steering wheel mounted on a new Ididit tilt
steering column. The steering wheel frames a new Dakota Digital RTX
gauge cluster that combines vintage style with modern accuracy and
reliability. There are gauges for temp, volts, oil, and fuel as
well as a tachometer and 120mph speedometer. Beneath the
speedometer is a digital screen that offers digital read-outs for
all of the gauges and extras like 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, and
high speed. The digital screen controller is attached to the air
vent on the driver's lower left side. The odometer reads just 201
miles since its installation. The grey-painted dash is predictably
spartan - offering knobs for the lights and wipers (new electric
wiper motor conversion kit), an ashtray lighter, a radio-delete
panel with bowtie logo, and controls for the Vintage Air system
that cranks out cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan on demand.
Ahead of the passenger is a glovebox that contains only the digital
controller for the Holley Sniper EFI system. Under the dash, there
are 4 vents attached to the Vintage Air system. The floors are
outfitted with new black carpet in excellent condition. Rising up
from the center of the floor is a Lokar shifter with correct
variations for the 4-speed overdrive transmission.
If you're looking for a truck that combines cool vintage looks with
modern mechanicals and conveniences then you'll want to take a
serious look at this '57 Chevy 3100! It's got a brand-new chassis,
suspension, engine, transmission, exhaust, EFI system, Vintage Air,
digital gauges, 4-wheel power disc brakes, and an attractive and
comfortable interior. You could hop in this truck, turn the key,
and hit the road to literally anywhere! Trucks like this don't last
very long here at Cruisin Classics so give our friendly staff a
