The 1984 Renault 5 Turbo 2 is a true icon of rally-inspired
engineering. Built to compete in the World Rally Championship, this
mid-engine hatchback is powered by a 1.4-liter inline 4-cylinder
engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a Garrett T03
turbocharger, producing around 185 horsepower. Paired with a
5-speed manual transaxle.
The car features advanced suspension for its time, with independent
coil-over shocks on all four corners, and it's equipped with
hydraulic disc brakes for confident stopping power.
This particular example is one of the few R5 Turbo 2s imported into
the United States and has been cared for by an original R5 Turbo
mechanic. Previously owned by a prominent collector in California,
this Turbo 2 has been thoughtfully preserved.
